it is not uncommon, it will take up to 48 hours before the antibiotics really take hold. Be sure to complete the full course of antibiotics even if you are feeling better before they are all gone, or the strep can come back and come back resistant to antibiotics!!

I get really sick with strep throat too and yes it can be normal (for you) just drink a lot of healthy fluids, rest and take the motrin and antibiotic. I am down about two days and another one (weak) after the meds kick in.
My kids all suffer greatly one throws up, one is just miserable and my youngest had it attack her muscles (she had a false negative test).. so feel better - you need to rest and follow the MD orders. If your fever or self doesn't feel better in two days call your MD back -

My son gets high fevers when he is sick. I was told to alternate between tylenol and advil every few hours to control it. If it continues beyond today I would go back to the dr or if you cannot break the fever!

Hope you feel better!

a fever and those symptoms can be indications of numerous illnesses - a throat culture taken at the doctors will tell you if its strep - and they would never tell you that without also taking a throat culture.

105 is something I would get checked. It is hard on the body. I would take some aspirin, which can help lower temperature, then I would go see my doctor. I think you are taking a risk, otherwise.

with a temp that high, you are cooking inside! you need to keep on something to break the fever. if it gets that high again, go to the ER
