I recently discovered that the idol I have been worshipping all my life, is just a worthless block of wood. What can I do to get on with some rightous worship? I'm a pretty good artist, so a religion that is into graven images would be a big plus.

Are you sure that's not two blocks of wood, intersected?? (lol) I'd say to look for something beautiful that makes you happy.....not some bloody image that's supposed to scare the bejeezus out of you.

Did you know that Abraham's Dad passed on the trade of idol making to him.
It's how he made his living as a young man.
He didn't worship them cause he was smart enough to see they were just blocks of wood.
Maybe you should turn you idol making into a business and worship the creator. Course if you do that you will probably want to get away from all that idol worship and get into some Holy Ghost worship.

Wow! I can't believe this question; but since you've asked it I'm going to answer. First and foremost, you're not suppose to worship idol gods? What's wrong with you! And then to say you've been doing it all your life? Wow! I just can't believe what I'm hearing here. You need Jesus Christ my friend in your life and not an idol god? I feel sorry for you and will pray that you find your way to God Himself and not these idiotic blocks of wood.

Peace & Happiness

whydo you want to worship graven images? why were you worshipping a block of wood? Yeshua is the answer not the 'stuff' in the world. God created all of that 'stuff'. worship the creator of the stuff instead of the stuff.

You need to find the best image of God, that will work for you. Making an artistic version of that image, may help you focus better. Meditate/pray, do mind-body exercises, eat healthy, don't over indulge, and expose yourself to all form of inspiration from all good sources, and you shall do just fine.

You have been "mis-informed."
You are not worshiping a block of wood, The figure on the
block of wood is just a "reminder" of who it is, that you are
praying to or for.
When you want to think of your children, don't you pull their
picture out of your wallet, and wish them the best. So keep
the faith, you have the "right" to worship, however you please.

I'm hoping your not serious, but just in case here is what God says about it. the first commandment of God is , thou shalt have no other gods before me. read Mark 12:32, also remember this , Be not deceived; God is not mocked:for whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap. in other words, to disobey Gods command and to practice idolatry is disrespecting to the Lord. there are consequences especially if you continue. ask God to forgive you and stop it.

What's up man? Hey, I would challenge you to find the nearest Non-denomination or Assembly of God church, go to a service, be open minded, and just see what you think. Hope everything works out for you. Peace.
