If you bleed per rectum, blood poisoning could be a complication. If it is tarry, it came from the upper gastrointestinal tract. Fresh blood plus acid will make it tarry. Bleeding with bright red blood is further down and can be due to polyps, hemorrhoids and anal tear.If there is a wound, bacteria from the feces can cause infection. There will be pus in your stools , a fever and pain perhaps. You can have systemic infection or septicemia and depending on the amount of blood lost ,anemia. To cure it , you have to determine the cause and then treat the cause. I think you need professional help because you will have to undergo a barrage of exams to determine the cause.

generally, if there is bleeding associated with a bowel movement, its more due to hemorrhoids than blood poisoning. cleaning of the area afterwards should be adequate to keep infections at bay in most circumstances.
