Of course they can. But when they get to the firmament (the hard dome over the earth) they won't be able to pass through. Kind of like a glass ceiling. Heaven is on the other side of the firmament according to the Bible.

they'll be going to their own 'private' excursion with fire, so they will need no jet packs.

LOL, that made me laugh. I'm a fundie who doesn't believe in the rapture, so sure, become "rocket man" if you'd like. Make sure you have oxygen tanks with you though!
