Well, you know and I know that it will never happen.
So what will happen to Christianity? All indications are that it will become more and more schismatic. There will be an increasing number of oddball offshoots (like the Church of Latter-Day Saints and the Jehovah's Witnesses) that the "real" Christians cannot regard as actually Christian in any sense. There will be a proliferation of new translations of the Bible, and the multiple new Bibles will diverge in their meanings. Eventually, the religion will become so dilute, and the number of participants in any one sect so small that it will fade into the general cultural background of humanity, superceded by more important future events and future religions (think Scientology as a model).

That's like asking "At what point will you give up waiting for a perfectly peaceful life?" In other words, your asking, "At what point will you give you give up hope for the hell of it?" I'm not losing hope for the hell of it, that would be nutty.
Also, so you know, not all Christians are Christians, some have eternal life and some don't. The ones that have it will never give up because they KNOW God will return. They may lose faith for a moment or three, but that's about it.
We who have eternal life would give up when there is evidence we are wrong, but there is no evidence that we are wrong. Atheists would love for us to believe it, but the best they can do when it comes to evidence is their doubt and their "cuz I said so."

For a born again Christian, Jesus resides inside of them and hopefully working through them. They feel Jesus/God's presence around them already. Yes, we believe that He will return to this world in physical form someday, but it's not the same as if we were waiting around for a date to show up.
Christianity is a complex belief in where both physical and spiritual matters coincide together equally.

When viewing the news and world history the last many decades, it seems obvious that Christ has been present for some time. This presence was to be understood by the signs not by his being here or there as some would claim! Matthew chapter 24.
The revelation or coming in kingdom power cannot be long. However, long is a relative term and we have been clearly told that the hour of that is none of our business.
Since Christ is present now, we must endure to be saved and that is what we do -- endure in hope, through trials and afflictions.

How very sad your life must be, that you waste your time on this site asking insulting questions of Christians, simply because you believe something different from them.
Are you just killing time until the short bus with the special needs kids come home from school, so you can go out in the yard and make fun of them?
You have an awful lot of unresolved anger if you're wasting your time lashing out at people you don't even know, simply because you don't like what they think.

All Christians who die a natural death give up waiting for Jesus to return since they, at that point, return to Jesus.
So far the death rate of Christians eventually dying from old age is 100.00%.

They won't.
The bible is purposefully obscure with dates and events that indicate the end to enable believers to continue to believe.
Even though Jesus said several times that many of the people he was talking with would not die before he returned, and John claimed that Jesus would return before he died 2000 years ago, Christians continue to hope for the best.
You have to admire their tenacity.

never because we understand that it is God's timing and not our own. we know that scripture says that he will come as a thief in the night, at a time when people least expect it, and that no man knows the day or the hour of His return.
