I've got two for you where I was actually pronounced dead. (A firefighter and a paramedic, respectively.)
Both times I just shot to black and heard a loud bang like a book being shut with some muscle in an old, empty place, felt myself pull away from my body, as if I was Astrally Projecting (I do this actively) and then I woke up to the extremely alarmed face of a rescuer.

I haven't had a near death experience. But when people suffer chemical imbalance, that could be similar to near death. If one's soul is having an out of body experience, it could be like a near death experience. The soul that is out of a body is thinking of spiritual things.
And there are people who have written books about this. One person who actually died & revived (prayed back to life) had this experience http://ww.90minutesinheaven.com .
I have had chemical imbalance because of practicing self hypnosis & also smelling paint thinner fumes too much years ago. And then I got stuck in a 1 yr dream domain & my thoughts went faster than I could keep up with. I couldn't fully wake up or fall asleep. Until I was healed of this. With the healing was the ability to sleep soundly every night again.
So? the 1yr dream domain was very spiritual, mental & physical with confusinig visions & voices. I had a total breakdown.

I was looking at the truck's lights right above my car. I knew there was no way out. I wondered how much it will hurt. And then I just embraced myself, closed my eyes and held on to the streering wheel - I was ready to die - and then it passed near me in slow motion. I stopped the car and cried.

I thought, oh sh1t! I really should've braked sooner!
I then saw a bright light at the end of a long tunnel - then I saw God.
He handed me an old driver ed textbook and said "Andrew, you really should be more careful. Get those brakes fixed, and slow down on the martini's!"

In the begging God* created us to live forever. But when Adam and Eve sinned it spread all trough human all the way trough ever one in the world. So God* sent his only son, Jesus to die on earth for our sins. He poured out all his blood just for you and me.
*John 3:16 for god so loved the world he gave his only begotton son. And whosoever beleavith in him will not perish but have everlasting life.***
Then 3 days later Jesus rose agian. And now he is in heaven building us a mansion.
