"Israel" is the name of the Jewish nation. That nation was divided in Old Testament times into 12 tribes. So technically there is no tribe of "Israel".

Towards the end of the Old Testament, the Jews were carried away into exile in Assyria and then Babylon. After 70 years, many of the tribe of Judea (and Bejamin which had been absorbed in Judea) returned to the land. This is the origin of the word "Jews' for their race. The majority of the other 10 tribes reminded in Assyria and Babylon and disappear from history.

When Jesus came, he originally taught to the Jews. Following his teach and resurrection, the majority of the Jewish people rejected him as the Messiah. So instead, the message was take first to the Greeks (by the apostle Paul) and from there on to the rest of the non-Jewish (Gentile) world.

Today the majority of Christians are not of Jewish descendent. According to current genetic sicentist, Jewish genes are found in about 2% of the world's population. Christiand make up over 35% of the population. So the majority of them are not from any Jewish tribe.

The Book of Morman claims that the American Indians are descendent from some of the lost 10 tribes that sailed to America on a raft. Modern genetic testing is unable to verify that claim. The Indians appears to Polynesian rather Jewish in their genes.

If you read the book of Acts in the Bible, you will get the history of the first generation of Christians, and see how the message moved from the Jews to the the Gentile people.

The tribes of Israel are 12 tribes and this is not the case as Israel alone did not receive Christ's grace. The gentiles who were outside of Israel's lineage received the spirit as well so there may be some Christians somewhere who are descendant from the tribes of Israel but the majority are not!

There is no "tribe" of Israel. The people are *Israel* -- the tribes are descendants of Jacob (renamed Israel). The tribes were dispersed among the nations, the only ones left intact were Judah (Jews) and Livites.

Christians are not Jews -- haven't you read what your "new" testament has to say about those wicked devils? Read Matthew 14 and the Book of John for a refresher course!

Why do no longer you go? You needless to say have evangelizing right down to a superb artwork. of direction, i could tell them approximately Jesus and his love for them. I doubt in the event that they could be ignorant of "sin", besides the fact that if it may be defined. Hell isn't the subject. the thought "they're knowledgeable around Nature and are freed from any biased non secular immersion" is so ethereal-fairy! what share classic cultures have you ever been in touch with? i'm prepared to guess the farm that i've got met extra advantageous than you have.

er - what have you been reading, anyway?

Israel - the NATION of Israel - consists of 12 tribes, the 12 sons of Jacob.

Israel does not consider herself Christian because Christianity requires accepting that Jesus is the Son of God, which Israel does not do.

Individual Jews may accept Jesus as their savior and thus be considered a Christian (or Messianic Jew, as some refer to themselves).

But to know who is a Christian, Jesus put it quite simply, "They shall know you are my disciples (they shall know you are Christians) by your love."

He also said, "You will know them by their fruits. A good tree will not produce bad fruit, nor a bad tree produce good fruit, so by their fruit you shall know them."

Finally, He gave warning that not everyone who calls themselves an apple is not necessarily an apple. Actually, the parable is that of a field of wheat in which tares were planted by the owner's enemy, and because you can not tell a wheat from a tare until they are fully grown, there are many "wolves in sheep's clothing", who profess Christianity, but are as far from being a Christian as a poisonous snake is from being a friend!

the twelve tribes are not 'christian'. christian is a pagan term in its origination. the twelve tribes were of israel. it is said often that native americans were one of the lost tribes, others say they are jews. not all jews are christians- very few are, but then you have the levites, another tribe, which are the priestly line of the scriptures. those priests are not christians- but priests of the jews. christianity is a pagan term, and anything pagan is not of God, not ordained by God. i am not saying that 'christians' are bad people, but very decieved.

Most christians are of gentile origin, not members of the tribes of Israel. What you may have read is that the church has taken the spiritual place of Israel.
