Lemoncello is popular in Italy. It is basically 100 proof vodka steeped with lemon zest, then mixed with simple syrup. It is served ice cold, and often used to cleanse the palate between courses.

Grappa is also served. It is a liqueur made from grape seeds.

Keep the aspirin handy though these drinks have bite!

Mostly red wine and Peroni beer. Carafes of wine are often cheaper than a glass would be at an American restaurant , which is amazing since everything else is so expensive.

Valpolicella and Chianti. Lots and lots pof Valpolicella.

They also drink lemoncello - which is a horrid lemon spirity thing, and grappa, which is foul.

I love their Campari. Either on the rocks or with a splash of soda. Good aperitif.
