Im askin cuz right now the 40gb sounds like the best buy. Im just tryin to make sure there isnt a string attached as to why that is.

tell you the truth it aint, just more space on the 60gb

1. The 60gb model has 20 more gigs of memory.

2. The 40gb model has no backward compatibility, so it can't play any PS2 games, although it can play PS1 games.

3. The 40gb model has 2 usb ports while the 60gb model has 4.

4. The 60gb model has a Flash Card Reader and the 40gb model doesn't.

From what I know, the difference would not only be the hard drive space but certain additional functions. I asked several PS3 dealers regarding the HDD difference and I am convinced that the 60GB would be the best buy.

other than 20 gigs of memory space the 40 gig also cannot play PS2 games

i believe that the 40gb PS3 has no backwards compatibility. so PS2 games will not be playable
