Hi, I'm getting married next year and I am just starting to plan everything, but I can't seem to find out exactly who should be wearing the same suit as the groom? I know that the groom, best man and ushers wear it, but is there anyone else? What about father of the bride/person who gives the bride away and the groom's father? Thanks for any tips!

Hi. It really think it depends on what YOU want and, perhaps, where you live. I see others have posted answers. Where I live this is who wears a tux:

~ Groom
~ Best man
~ Groomsmen
~ Fathers (both father of the bride AND father of the groom)
~ Ring bearer
~ Ushers (optional)

Of course, you want the groom to stand out, so generally they wear a white tie...or a different tie than the groomsmen.

Good luck with your planning!

Yes, the father of the bride or whoever is giving her aways wears it also. The groom's father can also be involved too but this is not traditional.

Hi there, at my wedding the groom, best man, my father, and the ushers and our 3 pageboys all wore the same suits,
But i wanted my new hubby to be a lil bit differant from the others and stand out as the "groom" so he wore a velvet jacket same colour as the other though.

All weddings are different. Here's how we are doing it.

Groom is wearing his own thing. Black tux with cutaway tails and ivory vest and tie.

Groomsmen - regular black tuxes, blue vest and ties.

Father of the Bride - regular black tux (to match the groomsmen) and a gold vest and tie (well...goldish).

Ushers will have boutineers to match the groomsmen, but they will not be in tuxes.

Father of the Groom will have a boutineer to match the father of the bride (both similar to the boutineer of the groom), but his own suit (he doesn't want to wear a tux).

No ringbearer.

The father of the bride (or equivalent) will also wear it, but traditionally not the father of the groom.

I have hired suits for my wedding and although my fiance is getting married in his RAF uniform, the best man and both fathers are wearing the same suit, waist coat and cravat but our ushers are wearing a different suit to the others and a tie instead of a cravat but matching waist coats. Hope this helps. x

I'm having both the fathers and the ring barer wear the same as the groom and groomsmen.
(Better deal from the rental store)

I've never been to a wedding where BOTH fathers werent also in the same suits as the groomsmen, to my eye, I think it would look wierd and also almost as if you are slighting the FOG by not having him in a tux as well.
