No, they usually state a place with no hair, so I stick mine upper arm. Meaty, sorry I have no meaty parts to my body. If you are starting the patch the first few days for me were Hades, vomited and eventually saw a Emergency Doc who told me to STOP the Patch and then gave me an injection for the sickness. I did not STOP the patch, have now been on it over two years and it has given me my life back. I am 49 with Rheumatoid Arthritis and a prolapsed Disc that rests on the nerve roots, which is interesting. I know some other Fentanyl users, female who stick it on their hip, or abdomen. As long as you are aware change in outside temperature: hot sunny day, hot shower, Sauna can make the medication seep in faster, likewise cold can make it not seep at all, then watch the breathing, life is good. I had a serious bout of leglessness when the disc did whatever it did and I lost the legs. I telephoned the emergency GP, told him the problem, explained I was already on the Patch, should I use another one? Answer 'Do you live on your own? Interesting question considering the amount of pain I was in? The answer 'No' so I was told to stick on another patch and get the other person to observe me, make sure I stayed awake and did not slip into a coma! The pain was so severe, I was tempted to stick the entire box on, in hope a coma would be pain free.

No. The patches should be worn on a meaty part (upper arm, thigh, or back). The fent. is absorbed thru the skin at a pre-determined rate.

Be very careful where you do put it. Follow the directions in the pack. I once wore one under my arm between the pit and the elbow thinking that it would be more comfortable there...long story short I got sick because too much absorbed to fast.

Be aware of any weird side effects and remove the patch asap if you have any. These things always make me sick to my stomach, so be careful.

I feel for you, really.
