ive heard it said that the bible told that in the last days most religion would be false. He said narrow is the gate and cramped is the road and few are the ones finding it.
does anyone know this exact quote and where in the bible it comes from?
i understand it to mean that over time people will distort His words and use them for personal gian. That organized religion is inherently corruptable.

does anyone have any other quotes like this where jesus or the bible talk about organized religion and it's pitfalls? Or about how religion is fluid and can change?

im working on a film project that this sort of information would help me with.
please tell me where your information comes from (such as chapter and verse of the bible) so that i can read more and have exact sources for my research.

thanks very much for your help.

WOW!!! U don't ask for much do U??? Christs' Whole Earthly Life was spent Overthrowing the "Establishment of the Day"!!! He said: "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by Me." We know of course that in Mat.21:12-27 Christ "Cleansed the Temple" & had his "Authority Challenged". But His whole Ministry was as a "Missionary" traveling to the People Not "Building churches / buildings / Religions!!! He called those in the Temple a "Den of Vipers"!!! In Mark 6: we see Christ traveling & sending out the Disciples. Verse 33 has Him feeding a Multitude of followers having traveled to them. Mark 11:15-18 is Enlightening in that we see Today many churches "Selling" things in them just as Christ Overthrew the "Market" in the Temple!!! Mark 13:All, is a "Prophecy" from Christ U will want to read. The "Gate Verse" is found in Mat.7:13&14, but keep reading as the "Prophecy" continues. Hope this little bit gives U some Insight as to what the Hypostatic Union was all about. John

Apostle Paul spoke of it in Acts 26:4 -7NISB "So then, all Jews know my manner of life from my youth up, which from the beginning was spent among my own nation and at Jerusalem;
since they have known about me for a long time, if they are willing to testify, that I lived as a Pharisee according to the strictest sect of our religion.
And now I am standing trial for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers;
the promise to which our twelve tribes hope to attain, as they earnestly serve God night and day. And for this hope, O King (Agrippa), I am being accused by Jews.

Read 2 Peter chapter 2 about false prophets and teachers

Read the first 3 chapters of Revelation about the 7 churches and what God says to them. This is organized religion today and God specifically tells each church what is wrong with them.

Organized religion will throw out the commandments of God for their own traditions. Here is what Jesus has to say about that.

Mark 7:8
For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

Matthew 15:3
But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Mark 7:9
And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Mark 7:13
Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

I dont believe in God, should i continue this work?
I am making a film about a preist and Catholiscism. I dont believe in God and i really dont believe in organized religion. But i have met so many good people trying to help others within religious circles i feel compeled to write about it. Im interested in the imagery of religion and how people use it in the context of the modern world.
Im scared to write it incase i slate religion by accident. can people give me some thoughts on these questions:
(please dont preach to me - you wont change my personal beleifs)

1. if you believe in God (christian)
what good is it to modern society? Do you genuinly think praying is as powerful as physically helping someone?

2. if you dont believe_
is there anything wrong with beleiving in God? Do you think there is anyway religion could help modern society?

The Bible says you know a Christian by their works. You must never condone or justify sin. Do you know you are sinning are you sorry you are sinning? Those are the main questions. The Bible says faith without works is dead so if you had faith enough to be baptized but don't act like a Christian your faith is dead. You do not have to go to church per say but we are suppose to fellowship and take communion with other Christian's if you can do that without a church then that would be ok, but that is difficult to do. At this point you may have been a Christian but only you know if you have let your faith die.

Mathew 7:13
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

LOL - 2 thumbs down for an atheist posting a bible verse...

Religion is ABOUT a Jesus.

Religion is NOT BY a Jesus.

Paul never met a Jesus.

The writers of the gospels are in question.

Religion is man made. Jews have a belief system, it was not a religion at inception.

Jas 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
