My cousin's daughter will be 51 tomorrow. That makes me feel old.
The other 3,000 or so Americans who died in the war against terrorism are just as much patriots as Pat Tillman.
The 58,000 who gave their lives in Vietnam are also Patriots.
Several of them are having birthdays tomorrow too.
Or should be having birthdays, but they don't get any more birthdays. :-(
What are their names?

I haven't heard about him before, which is a shame, because from what you say, he seems to be a real hero! But he is just one of those many men out there in afganistan who put their lives on the line for the duty to their country! There are many more, "unsung heroes," out there, and many more here at home. God has a reason for ending those men out there, although we cannot always see a point to his reasoning. And remember that all that you hear is not all that is going on in afganistan. There have been many muslim souls saved through the delivering of gospel tracts, that, without those troops being there, would not have been humanly possible. You have to understand exactly what is going on there, and the twists and turns of the muslim faith before making a judgment on the matter. But one thing I do know: that those people who are making the decisions to where this country is going are there appointed by God, and are there for a reason. It is only when they start doing things that are blatantly against the bible that we rebel. Untill then, we are to respect and obey them that have rule over us!
God bless our troops!
My uncle is in Afganistan....
LOL, I quite agree with you, don s.!

Everything you have said about Pat Tillman is true, I'm sure. Tomorrow will be the birthday of 1/365th of our military, and many of them will be under fire on their birthday.
How many soldiers in WWII had their birthday on June 6th?
For those who are too young or uneducated, June 6th, 1944 was D-Day. How many US Lives were lost on Okinawa?
Answer: 12,513 Dead or missing
Pat Tillman is no less a Hero than many others, but he is no more a hero than many others.

I admire Pat Tillman for his selfless service to his country. But let's not forget the thousands of others who have volunteered to fight for their country. Not all have left million dollar careers, but all have left something behind, family, friends, jobs, homes etc.

My thanks to him and everyone else who has laid down their life for our freedom. I applaud any and all past veterans as well. My father, Carl Andersen(dec'd) and my bro in law J.Dahlhauser for serving WWII, my bro in laws, J. Bales, W. Biskeborn, for serving during the Korean War; my brother, Toby Andersen(dec'd) for serving VietNam war and my nephew, J. McCright for 2 times in Iraq. We all have family and friends that deserve recognition for this great service to their country and their families.
War seems so unnecessary to many, but what else can be done? Until there is total world peace which we doubt can ever be achieved, we will always have wars, and the many lives of those we love will be lost; but not in vain. They will forever be etched in all American hearts for what they've done.

He was a true American hero. He laid down his career, and his life for his country, how can you dispute that...he thought enough of mankind to give his own life. It is a shame that he died the way he did, but I will bet you he would renlist all over again.
