It is where the people drop in during the shower time specified on the invitation, enjoy the snacks, bring the gift and visit with the mother to be and other visitors without having to play the games some people don't care to play anyway. It makes sense but when invited, some have never heard of it.

Well, I'd call it an open house, never heard of doing that at a shower. But I would like it, no silly games sounds great to me.
You would get to visit with the honoree and friends.
So does the honoree open the gifts later? Since that is such a big part of the shower, I would miss that.

No, I've never heard of this. I've also never been forced to play a game. If you wanted to visit with mom and bring her a gift, couldn't you do this anytime? Sorry but this sounds more like a 'bring me gifts but i don't want to bother with favors, prizes, etc. sort of thing'.

I have been to LOTS of baby shower where NO ONE plays games...

Games are an option not a requirement..

Have what ever kind of shower you want.

I've never heard of this but I love the idea. Maybe call it an open house instead. That's really what it is.

Good luck.

Never heard of it, no.
If the guests don't like the games, there's no reason for there to be games.
