favorite boxers are Ricky Hatton, for his coming forward style and always intense action.

Also Manny Paquiou for the same reason

Sugar Ray Leonard: He taped a picture of his 4 year old son on his ankle, (i was 4 at the time). He beat that unbeatable Cuban in the Olympics, be heat that unbeatable Tommy Hearns, and he beat that unbeatable Marvin Hagler.

Larry Holmes. There was nothing BS or fake about Lar, he told you what he thought. He was smart in the ring, he never forgot or left his hometown roots and he kept/invested his earnings. Then the incredible beatdown he put on Leon Spinks, gave us a brief example of the kind of fighter he could have been had he chose to aggressive. Against Snipes and Weaver, he avoided the kind of Buster Douglas traps that other greats fell into.

Pernell Whitaker. Pure boxing skill, plus he exposed Chavez and Del Annoya as over-rated. He was as entertaining a boxer ever was for purists.

Evander Holyfield: always gave a good fight, and beat Tyson to within an inch of his life.

I dont have any current boxing favorites, I guess I'm waiting for a Hearns or Leonard type to come around, rather than the typical "boxer/punchers" that seems to be popular. Floyd Mayweather is the closest thing to a favorite comptemporary fighter.

My favorite boxer was the original "Sugarman", Sugar Ray Robinson, rated by most as the greatest fighter of alll time.Robinson had over 200 fights and won 175.He went 8 years without a loss, was the welterweight champ for 5 years. He was the middleweight king 5 times and came close to winning the Lightheavy title.Robinson was truly one of the greatest fighters of all time, if not the greatest of them all.

1. Young Mike Tyson - could have been one of the best ever if he kept his trainer Kevin Rooney. You could never take your eyes off of one of his fights cause it could end just that quick.

2. Floyd Mayweather Jr - talks a lot & backs it up & he will embarrass Hatton in December.

3. Shane Mosley - fights everyone & has more heart than any fighter out there right now.

4. Pac Man - best at the lighter weights & never stops coming, throws punches all fights non stop.

5. Roy Jones Jr - before he lost to Tarver he was exciting to watch & you never knew what he was going to do next extreme handspeed.

Current favourites are Hatton and Calzaghe. But back in the day Hearns, Hagler, Leonard, Duran all these guys where rivals and complete opposites in many ways, but all four were awsome fighters who provided alot of excitment in there fights.

marvin hagler-relentless,fearless and just a beast
tommy hearns- a killer with a tremendous right hand

those two were my favorite fighters in the 80's during the golden era of that welterwieght and middleweight class

manny pacquiao-ur almost always gonna get an entertaining fight when pacman is fighting.

prince naseem hamed-whether u liked like or hated him, u always wants to see him fight.

evander holyfield- a real underdog in every sense of the word. a class act in the ring...

with that said, holyfield and hears do not know when to stop boxing!!!

manny is still in the prime of his career while naz vanished after one comeback fight after losing to marco.

hagler was the only one who lost and actually hung up the gloves.

Marvin Hagler - a friend and I were driving to Wonderland Dog track and got cut off by a white Cadillac, my friend flipped the guy off and laid on the horn. The Caddy followed us to the track and Marvin Hagler is the driver, he came over to our car and apologized. We asked him to sign our Boston Globe sports page, which he did and he gave us $10.00 and said first race, number 7 to win. We went inside the track and lost his $10.00 and about $200.00 more but we always talk about the incident.

There are some good fighters listed here but do not forget your history guys. SUGAR RAY ROBINSON!!!!!! I can not believe guys like Corralles,Moseley, and even Mayweather are listed here. None of these guys have had as many fights as Robinson had wins. Quality wins also. He won 3 belts back when there were only eight divisions and almost won the light heavyweight title.

My favorite boxer now is Kelly Pavlik because beyond his skills & power NOBODY in boxing has more heart & determination than he has ! ---I'm starting to believe that you need a stun gun + pepper spray to keep Pavlik on the canvas for the 10 count !!
