A lot of recent movies (not documentaries) depict Jesus as a white guy with a grown beard. Because of 9/11, anti Middle Eastern sentiments have increased....But have you ever stopped to think..?
Jesus of NAZARETH was born in BETHLEHEM. If you read the Bible he was clearly in conflict with ROMAN officials and priests. I'm asking this question as an aethiest, but have you ever though that maybe Jesus was from the Middle East himself? To some of who like to dub the Middle Eastern area of the globe as the "Circle of Evil", can you accept that Jesus possibly had similar roots to those you hate?
I'm not saying that all Christians are Middle Eastern or Muslim haters, but I want to see a perspective on someone who does view the Middle East as an enemy.

Jesus was a Jew and sensibly he was dark skin & dark hair. But alas that's Hollywood & what they think christians will find acceptable. To a certain extent they're probably right.

Muslims (as a whole) have long hated Jews even before they became a nation again. Time & time again they have called to wipe them out despite the fact that before they began returning the whole region wasn't much beyond a dust bowl.

The Mufti made a fortune (in the billions) from promoting that hate of the Jews as has Arafat & most of those leaders who followed in his footsteps.

Christians don't hate Muslims. But much of the middle east are enemies. Israel is the only true democracy there. They even have Arabs in the Knesset. Women are given an equal say, everyone gets treated equally in the hospitals including terrorists, etc.

Most (if not all) who aren't Muslim in Arab nations are treated as second class citizens at best. Israel is bombed daily from the Hezbollah in Lebanon & from the Gaza Strip they gave up for the sake of peace.

Both Bethlehem & Nazareth were part of Israel when Jesus lived, not Palestine. It wasn't named that until after 70 A.D.

As for Jesus having the same roots, he did in a sense. Most Arabs are descended from Abraham's son by his wife's handmaiden, Ishmael. The Muslim religion didn't come along until Mohammed which was 40 in 612 A.D.

So not all Muslims are Arabs and not all Arabs are Muslims. Though they may be predominantly Muslim (like the U.S. christian) they are Arab nations. But almost all were recreated after the British Mandate who were the occupiers after defeating the Ottoman Empire.

So if you know your history you realize whether someone is Muslim or not has little to do with your land roots. We do have some Middle East allies but none as loyal as Israel. I don't know any christian that views the entire middle east as an enemy. Only those such as Iran who have proven over & over again they are.

It is not only the Holy Bible that reveals the birthplace of our Savior, but other scriptures used by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jesus Christ was born in the town of Bethlehem, at Jerusalem; meaning, in Bethlehem in the area of Jerusalem.

I accept that as truth through the exercise of faith. Analyze all you want to fit your perspective, but in the end, the truth will prevail.

Of course Jesus was from the Middle East; the Bible is quite clear on that.
It's His teachings that matter to Christians not where He came from.

True Christians do not view people as "enemies" just because they come from a certain area.

How do you like this depiction of Jesus?
