I knew mine was "the one" because I didn't want to take it off! :)

I went dress shopping just once. I tried on a good twenty or so dresses and had the field narrowed to three that I thought were gorgeous and made me feel beautiful.
At that point, one got knocked off because it was a few hundred dollars more expensive than the other two. Then I tried on those two again, and decided between them.
I never had a moment where I tried one on and just knew it was the one. It's a dress. If you like it and the price is right, sounds good to me! It's silly to spend hours and hours searching for perfection.
I loved my dress and never questioned my decision.

I found a dress that I really thought looked great on me, and I was decided that I would get this dress. My friend recommended I try this one other bridal boutique about an hour away because it's a really magnificent place, and they have hundreds of dresses to try on. I decided I'd go there just to experience the place, and to confirm the dress I had picked was THE ONE! I tried on any dress the consultant offered me, and after about 12, I tried one that just didn't look like me at all. Well, I put it on, and kept it on for about a half hour--sat down in it, walked around, and just stared at myself in the mirror. I felt wonderful in it. My mother commented that I didn't have the same excited reaction with the other dress. I decided on the spot that this was my dress, and I've been thrilled with my choice.
If you're happy with 3, that's great, but keep hunting for a bit longer to make sure one of them is the right one. Good luck!

I fell in love with the very first dress I tried on. It made me smile, and I couldn't stop smiling! :) I tried on others that were really pretty as well, so I thought I'd leave them to the side, but honestly, none made me smile or as happy as that very first dress. I was super impressed over the feeling I had, and my dress was "the one" for me :) It felt comfortable enough, I liked the look, everything. I even went online afterwards looking at more dresses, and found some I liked, but then I look at mine, and some of the details- it's a one-of a kind dress, so I just couldnt' find anything else like it.... and after looking at a picture of me in the dress, I was like wow! I still absolutely love my dress.
I know this prob doesn't happen to everyone, but I'm glad it was the case for me... it's hard on deciding things because you want to be unique, but you. :) Goodluck with what you decide. Ask yourself what one do you feel best in, which one do you like the details on the dress better? What is your gut telling you? Which one makes you smile and not stop? :)

Well, this is what I did, and I only had 3 weeks to buy, alter, and wear my dress on my big day!........I picked out 3 that I liked, put them aside, and then went back and picked 3 more. I then compared them to the first 3, if I had duplicated a choice than that was the one! Mind you, I had to repeat this 2 times, so therefore I had 9 dresses and only 2 were the same one. And that was the one I wore, it ended up being the best choice all around. But I didn't get that "This is the one" feeling.....

mine was the first one I tried on and yes, I got that feeling. Sorry! I kept shopping for a couple weeks later and even though I would like some dresses, I would always be talking about the one at "southern wedding" (where I got my dress) and how it had this, or didn't have that and It just became very obvious that it was the one, as if I didn't already know....lol. My dress was just "me" I'm crazy lucky and didn't even have to have alterations b/c the ordered it to my lenght and it fit everywhere else. I hope you figure it out, I couldn't imagine what it would be like to have such a hard time with it!

I've not decided for sure because I'm afraid I might miss the "best dress" if I go for the one I really like right now.
I'm leaning towards this one, because it fit me really well right off the rack (the waist will need to come in a little, but overall it was AMAZING to find something fit so nicely on the 1st try), it was much simpler than I thought I would like, it is one of the more reasonable dresses, and I just love the fancy bit of design it has.
My main thing was the fit. It just sat beautifully in all the right places (I'm no toothpick).

I really liked the second one that I tried on. It was okay when I saw it on, but then I got misty eyed when I put on the veil and headpiece. Still, I kept looking because I just didn't have "that feeling". I went to 4 more stores and no dresses were as good as that 2nd one. I brought two people back to check out that 2nd dress again and everyone agreed that it was the best one I had tried on. At that point, I just decided to get it. I'm actually quite happy with it, but I am wondering if there is "the one" somewhere out there that I missed.

Well in my case the dress that I really really wanted (I mean I completely fell in love with it!) was way out of my budget, it was about £1900 and my budget was £800 max. It was a Hollywood Dreams dress called Scarlett, in the most amazing shade of red! I never actually tried it on, I saw it at a fashion show at a wedding exhibition but as it was totally out of reach I gave up on it. I went wedding dress shopping the following weekend and tried on about 15 dresses that were more in my budget, I narrowed it down to 3 that I really liked but I didn't get that 'this is the one' feeling about any of them. That evening my mum phoned me to say that she had seen the dress that I had originally fallen in love with on eBay, in my size. Without ever having tried it on, I bid on it and got it for £525. When it arrived I was so nervous that it wouldn't be 'right' but it was absolutely stunning and fitted me almost perfectly (just needed a couple of weeks of dieting and exercise!). It was so much more 'Wow' than any of the other dresses that I tried on!
So I think that you will 'know' the one, I knew just from seeing it on a catwalk being worn by someone else!

I was evenly set between two dresses. It honestly didn't "matter" to me which one I picked. So, I tried on both for my dad...and one he got a lot quieter about than the other one. And that's how I knew.
Then, my gown just came in this past weekend, and when I went in to pick it up, I tried it on, and that's when I knew it was The One. Standing there, in the exact dress I will wear in 7 months to get married to my best friend, I got misty for the first time.
I don't think you need that feeling right away...but I think you'll get it eventually. Even if it's like me-months after you already ordered it.

I tried on several, some of which were nice, some OK, some lovely and even some ridiculous (just for fun!!). I eventually settled on one I thought was 'the one'. I went and thought about it, but had doubts. So, I figured, if there are doubts it is not right! So, I went to a department store, looked around and there it was! My dream dress. I just knew it was the right one. I tried it on, it fitted perfectly, needed no alterations and I looked stunning! It was everything I dreamt about. So, I guess it is something that you just 'know'. Maybe I was just lucky, though.
