You can't control who you fall in love with..And the more you wait for that right person to fall in love with you, the more time you'll waste, as well as missed opportunities.
So, if you think you find the right person, and you're being yourself, and he doesn't show any interest, no matter what you do..Move on! Just don't waste any more time..
Life is too short to waste on someone who's not interested in you..It's their loss..
You will meet the right person....And when it happens, just give him a chance..Give yourself a chance as well! You might be nicely surprised!
Good luck!

This is a deeply philosophical question.

The short answer is no, because you yourself cannot determine who you fall in love with and for what reason.

The long answer is yes, and I pose to you this question:
If you had a choice to stay in a country, or move overseas,
then aren't you, to some extent, controlling who you see and interact with, and ultimately, in a general aspect, who you will fall in love with?

If you never met the person you would fall in love with...
you wouldn't know it. And, thus, you would think that it was
beyond your control.

Blah. It's getting too late for this :P
Just be happy! <3

well let me tell you.... I'd say HELL NO!!! You see I got a true funny story to tell you about me and my husband. I prayed to have God send me the man of my dreams... well believe it or not two weeks later I found him..but not what I would think as the man of my dreams..but when i thought about it..he was.. this is what i call God having a sense of humor! I wanted a tall man, with a little extra meat on his bones, older then me, dark hair, funny, intelligent, college educated, employed, etc... well I didn't think It was him when i met him. my husband was empolyed at a dead end job (not anymore),very very tall, extra meat, dark hair and eyes, has a college certificate, great personality, and he is younger then me. I was so stuck up i never dated men younger then me. my husband pursued me for 1 month before i gave him a chance.. and you know what! I'm glad he did! The main thing i asked God for was a really religious man... well i got that.. but not the religion i wanted.. lol you see i am Christian..but my husband is Pagan. Now let me say this.. i didnt think he ws the one.. but i knew after a while he is the man of my dreams and God sent him to me.. so did i get what i wanted? yes.. just not exactly how i thought it would be.. but I'm extremely happy. I got lucky but no one can control who they love... it hits you when you least expect it. its great if you ever get it.. don't fight it. let it take its true course.

Yes.
I'm assuming you know the difference between attraction and love. You can't fall in love if you spend no significant time with the person.

No. Even though it is a fantastic emotion, it is also a very weak emotion and one of those things that cannot be controlled.

Well, to an extent, you can apply discipline and control your feelings.

Though, I guess, you can love many but it takes discipline to be monogamous.

But I guess the answer would be no then, initially.

It can't be helped.... we may fall for someone even though we don't expect it... but you should learn to control your feelings, thoughts, and actions...
