- should a bat commander be that far to the front?
-did this act of bravery swing the battle for 2 para
-would the paras have won if jones had not been killed?

Nope was killed by Argentine machine gun fire whilst attacking a defended position. Should he have been in that position? In my mind no that's not the place for a Commander as to would the Paras have won if he lived, of course they were the better soldiers on the day.

No! he was shot by an Argentinian m.g. position that he failed to observe as he went forward clearing another m.g. position.
