in the US it is the Army and marine Corps
Other nations like England have Marine regiments
while others might call them naval infantry or the marines might be a part of the army or not exist.

I'm not sure where you are headed with this question, but I will do my best.
First we will mention your basic types of units which are called Combat Arms.
First is the Infantry - This is typically the guy you see in the foxhole fighting it out on the front line. You have your regular (foot) infantry and you mechanized (armoured vehicles) infantry.
Second is Artillary (King of Battle) - This is the guys with the big guns that drop in shells to provide support for the infantry.
Third is Armour (or armoured Calvaery) - This is where your tanks come into play.
Fourth is Combat Engineers - These guys can be the first and last to leave a battle. They are the ones that might be blowing up the bunker or building the landing strip.
These areas of combat arms can expand and have sub branches and you have some others (ie aviation) but these are the main four.
All areas of combat arms work in conjunction with each other and their main goal is to support the infantry.
As stated above the infantry comes in two basic flavors, foot and mechanized. In mechanized you will see a lot of Bradly fighting machines which some may mistake for a tank. The Bradley will most times have a main gun, but its primary role is to transport the infantry to the battlefield while providing some degree of protection and cover to the soldier.
The armoured calvery on the other hand is a rolling gun that is for directly supporting the infantry by providing direct cannon fire.
Artillery (King of Battle) is the big boys who pound the enemy into submission, supresses the enemy while the infantry and armour or engineers can manouver.
I hope that somewhere in there I answered your question.

Just wanted to add that armoured calvary is really a subbranch and that you also have the air calvary which includes your helicopters

In the US, it is the Cavalry which uses armored vehicles and ground troops at the same time.
We have armored divisions which are tanks and support vehicles. We also have infantry divisions which have vehicles for transportation only.

I know the Army uses them and I think the tanks are known as artillery. I'm not sure who else though.
