I am a C/O that is why I asked the question because we as C/O's are always looked down on.
P.S. I am not a dog or a monkey so dont call me a guard. My title is officer!

depends in which instance. If I was talking to someone about you, I would say he is a jailer, guard, corrections officer etc. If we were all at the same party and it was a cop only party, you should be there. yes. if I stopped you for speeding and you say "hey, we are on the same team can I get a warning", I would write you a ticket just like I do every other cop I catch going to fast. I consider you a law enforcement officer, but a cop is a cop, a hypo is a hypo, a deputy is a deputy.....they all have different jobs.

You are a law enforcement officer. You work in corrections, where the penalties for breaking the law are enforced.

Yes! Most people don't realize all of the work that goes into Corrections! DOC is an asset to all branches of law enforcement & doesn't get the respect it deserves!

No. It is not the same thing. Anyone can be a corrections officer. My husband is an officer (a patrolmen) and he recently pulled over a corrections officer that was hauling inmates somewhere and he was drunk and had gotten all of the prisioners drunk.
Disgusting.

No, although corrections is part of criminal justice, it is not the same as law enforcement.
