Of course they would.

Though an entire country is never going to stand together. Think about the petrol strikes a few years back, sure, every-one was happy to 'pip' their support at the lorry drivers but then they realised they were being effected by it, it was too much trouble to walk/cycle/get a train to work and their support faded.

We could of made a real difference back then.

What, like the poll tax? And you'd prefer rats everywhere when there is no one getting our trash? Roads shot to pieces? Hey, why don't we stop the bother of voting and go communism?
We all have to pay it, and it sucks. It will never go down, just a delay of when it will go up.

Would be nice if it worked that way but more than likely examples would be made and that would force people to continue paying

I guess it would give the goverment something to think about more seriously ..I vote you start a publicity campaign to get this on the go
