can a hindu women be allowed to marry a christian man or will it not be acceptable to her family / traditions etc
and if they can marry does a hindu take her husbands (christian) surname - what is the norm for hindu's in this regard

I guess it is not acceptable to her religion. However, religion is a choice. We are free to choose to follow faithfully to our God or leave. God will not force us; He gave us all a choice.
Well... If she chooses to follow her God and is faithful to her religion, then the answer would be no, she can't marry a Christian man. However, she can still marry a Christian man if she wants to. However, she will sin against her God and her religion but then again, everything is a choice. God doesn't force us.

Any woman can marry any man. We are all children of God and as such - equals. He designed us for this. Finding love in this world is a difficult thing for, I think, God has chosen us for someone and it would behoove us to seek His counsel for that choice. (believe it!)
The issue is not WHO to pick as a mate but HOW you will believe - TOGETHER. Take it from me (and 95% of all family counselors out there) if you do not have a common faith your marriage is doomed. Christians should have a 100% success rate in marriage. Why not? This goes deep into the Trinity and, I believe, most people do not and will not go there. This is why there is a 50%+ divorce rate in this country. With regards to your name question - who cares. Call yourself anything you want. It's not what you are on the outside...........

Try looking at yourself as a female instead of Hindus or Christian. Be realistic. We are all human. It is the culture that name us this and that. She will bear a Child not a Hindus or Christian.
