I didn’t know that but apparently it’s true. I got this answer from a real Christian the other day.

“…some of us need constant reminder of whom we believe in, will help us get through our days without feeling abandoned or so upset that we kill the family in the next car, or everyone in the nearest shopping mall.”

Kind of scary, huh?

Yes, it is. Some Christians need reminding of their beliefs, kinda like Pavlov's dog. =P

there are about a million prisoners (most likely more) in the U.S alone who sit there for murder. They didn't get their reminder of why they need not to kill. They didn't have a reason not to. For those Jesus lover's however, when rage comes (and I'm sure you know that rage comes to all of us) they look at Him and are reminded of His glorious love and that He would never do that. People are all evil though, at different times in their lives, and christians can get evil just as much at times. That's exactly why we need Jesus. The good characters of people and their good upbringing stops many people from those sort of things of course- but there are still those times and those days on the News when someone good murders someone else who made their life miserable although didn't try to kill them. THAT'S why we need Jesus for.

I think some christians are totally mentally crazy and take morality for advantage. With or without a billboard they would do crazy things anyway. And I'm a christian saying this too!

I know what you mean.
I've seen a number of fundies openly admit that if there wasn't a god there'd be nothing to stop doing normal psychopath stuff.
Apparently they reckon god provided them with morals in bible - I've yet to figure out how a blood-thirsty bible does that.
Maybe it's bible turning them into psychopath whilst at same time holding them back from their programmed desires.

I dunno, but you're right.
"Kind of scary"?
You betcha.

what's really scary is that you can't tell the difference between sincerity and intentional hyperbole...and i thought atheists were supposed to be intellectually superior...well, if nothing else, we can all thank you for shattering THAT particular myth!

I hope that was an exaggeration. If not, then they need more than the help of God.

Your logic eludes me; how does a big billboard that pisses you off equate to keeping Christians from going crazy (not that some of them aren't already there...)?
