I think I have the answer to your question. I came up with this when Homer (from the Simpsons) asked Ned Flanders if Jesus could microwave a burrito so hot that even he couldn't eat it. I have come to the conclusion that Jesus could do that because the will of Jesus is said to be that powerful. If he wants to heat a burrito he cannot eat or make a body of water that he will walk for eternity, he can.

if it couldn't be crossed then it is not a river.
see definition of river.
that body of water you mentioned has not yet been named.. what will you name a body of water not bounded by any land.
perhaps it is a water planet. so you'll just keep on turning around it. you cannot cross that.. you don't know where to start in the first place. there is no land.
Yes God can create that body of water.
Yes God created a stone Jesus could not carry.
Jesus even felt the weight of the cross. How much more for a boulder. Jesus is true Human and true God.
Yes Jesus is God.
so
God created a stone He could not carry.
Know God with better understanding. Only with the help of the Holy Spirit you'll trully understand God. Seek Him first and He'll come to you.
God bless.

Your answer is no because like you said, Jesus is God. God is the trinity. The trinity is God the father, Jesus the son and Holy Spirit the helper. God is the creator of this universe. Everything belongs to him so as long as He wants to, He can create a never ending river and still walks on it.

Your question is basically the same as "can God create a rock so big he cannot lift it?"
Only God can answer your question so that is exactly what I will do. Satan asked God a similar question and this is what He said.
“Then the devil took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple,
and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written,
'HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU';
and
'ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP,
SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.'"
Jesus said to him, "On the other hand, it is written, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'" - Matthew 4,5-7
There is something God cannot carry to heaven. It is a proud and arrogant soul that refuses to believe despite the overwhelming evidence.

Personally, I don't think that Jesus was God, or his "son", for that matter. I think that Jesus was a divine messenger sent by God.
I like your joke, though, lol.
Edit:
To salaciousswain- I do believe in God, but God didn't write the Bible, men did. I believe they wrote that (and that Jesus was born of a virgin) to try to add to his divinity.

Jesus is Son of God. Or he would have Prayed to himself the night before he was crucified.

That's like asking if God can create a rock so big he couldn't lift it.
Really what's the point. To prove your are smarter than God?
Or do you really want to know him? Which would a parent want from their child?

that's like saying Tommy Chong created a bong so big he couldn't smoke it.
apparently you are giving it quite the inhalation yourself.
thumbs down.
if Jesus was just a messenger from God.......then you would have to believe in God in order to state that.
so you believe in God yet don't believe what God says when God says he gave his only begotten son......that would be Jesus.........
you contradict yourself.
sense isn't just a couple of pennies in your pocket.
