Recently, two of our V-Tech home phones in the computer room indicate (on the digital screen thingy) that there's no line even though everything is plugged in. Sometimes, the little "in use" light would blink even though no one's talking on the phone.

I tried hanging up, taking out and re-inserting the phone line, checking all the plug-ins but to no avail. The two phones are on the same phone line.

Other phones on the same phone line work great (one in the master bedroom, two in the living room, and one in the kitchen). If someone calls us, I'd have to get up and get it in the master bedroom or downstairs. The phones in the living room are V-Tech; the rest are not. The separate phone/fax line works fine.

Could it be a problem with the phone company, our phones, the wiring, or both?

Its definitely not the phone company since other phones on the same line work. What you need to do is take the phone from the lr or br and plugged it into the jack in the computer room and see if it works. If it works there is nothing wrong with the line and the problem is the vtech phone. If it does not work there is a problem with the wiring.
