I was just wondering where I could find a cheap place to stay. I am going to Guangzhou with a group of people to help with translating and this kind of things and will take the occasion to go to Hong Kong to visit a University I wish to attend. Hotels are too expensive: I will only sleep there anyway so I don't need anything fancy. Under HK$200 a day would be a reasonable price for me.

Where can I find people willing to take me as a guest for a small fee? Is the internet reliable?

Thanks in advance.

in hongkong there is no hotel less than $200 a day, and if you have a friend or relative or else you will need to spend more than that.

Try the Dragon Hostal in Mongkok, it is 300$HK, if you want, go to Shenzhen China. Of course, I would just stay at Hong Kong Mongkok, it is only 300$HK man!

Looking for a place in HK for under HK$ 200?
Have you considered camping? I assume that's the only option in this meager amount.

if you can' find a place for that price (hk200 isn't much), you can always cross the border to shenzen and find a cheaper place there. It is only an hour train ride anyway.
