I have suffered from Arthritis due to a torn PCL in a car wreck for 7 years now. I find that the best way, for me, to reduce the pain is Excedrin. It's a combination Tylenol and Asprin with Caffiene in it (Caffiene is a pain reliever aide) so it definately wont' knock you out. Many OTC pain meds tend to knock people out. Another way, if you're less active, I've used is IcyHot or a heating pad of some sort. There is not going to be any kind of quick fix for this situation. The best you're going to do is bring it to a tolerable level, and i've found both these, sometimes in combination, help most.

There are many ways of reducing arthritis pain. My remedies are very limited because I have a list of medication allergies (15 meds). I have used capsaicin cream to help relieve pain somewhat. Tylenol PM used to help a lot. My TENS unit used to help sometimes, but not any more. Tramadol and gabapentin helped somewhat. Things have evolved to the point that muscle relaxers and tylenol 3 do not help much. Even at night, I take my pain meds, muscle relaxers, ambien, etodolac, depression meds, etc, but I still only sleep about 3 hours, then I am back up . I know that different meds work differently for different people.
Good luck with your pain relief. I hope you have better luck than I seem to be having.

Arthritis you mean? Depends. If it is degenerative, i.e. due to age, it could be nasty. Take you physicians advice and, keep moving gently and easily. A pleasant way to do is swimming. Floating in the water will take away much of the pressure on joints and breast stroke do help alleviate the pain and loosen up the joints. Even if you can't swim, floating in the pool by a buoy will help. But again, most of all listen to your physician and they have lots of tricks to help you out.

There is no medicine for almost all painful diseases like RA, H/A, Back ache, earache etc. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress,
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 90% success in treating all pains confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I treat it with our SHREE SWASTHYAYOG THERAPY, but how can you manage pl see.
Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
These useless drugs have enormous power to create hazardous side effects like liver/kidney failure, ulcer, acidity and lot others.
Avoid all cold foods/drinks; always use fresh home cooked food.
Hot water bath, hot weather will ease pain.

Someone should be seeing a Rheumatologist, who specializes in Arthritis. First you need to be diagnosed, several different forms, then you will be treated, several different treatments depending of the form.
