I'm not trying to be insensitive and I'm sorry your going through problems. I'm not trying to be mean and I want to stress I'm not trying to belittle your problem, but mental illness really isn't a disease. Their is no biological test that can prove someone has a mental illness. With a biological test you can prove cancer or ms etc. Unfortunately mental illness isn't a disease. You have the right to feel depressed and unfair with the cards you have been dealt. I just wouldn't get lost in that feeling. Sometimes we can feed those feelings and give them more power. An example could be if your angry at someone and throughout the day your think about it more and more and the anger keeps building. The reason being are thoughts keep feeding it. Again I'm not belittle your problem, things can change.

Life is not like it was a hundred years ago. Technology and the fast pace of our lives has created circumstances, within the last century, that our brains were not meant to deal with.
Before this century, civilization has changed very slowly, giving our brains time to adapt. But this century has been a so full of change in such a short time period that our brains are reacting to it in a negative way.
I think another factor is that a lot more people talk about their mental illness now, as opposed to a hundred years ago when those things were swept under the rug. Nobody knew if somebody had a mental illness back then, because they were just sent away and people were told they were off visiting relatives or something.

Yes, i have two of them myself. I am in agreement with you. However, I'll i can do is the best that I can and not focus on the labels.
You are not the mental illness! You have a lot more then that to offer. forget about the term 'mental Illness" Just strive to live your life the best way that you can and seek happiness.
There is still life in them. Yes, they are no matter what. They struggle more and have more issues with daily life then most people, however, people with mental illness have every right to live a life, and make the most of it.

There are a number of reasons. Among them are genetic factors, tramatic experiences, envirnoment in which the affected people were raised in, horrifying flashbacks, drug use, etc.
I deal with it, too. Taking meds is a pain in the butt but if you stop, you'll relapse and then you have to get back on the meds and wait until you feel better again.
My suggestion would be to find a support group with people who have mental illness (there are several).

You can thank a difficult life, difficult society, and shocking TV and Internet things for creating so many mentally ill.
The FCC could legally be sued for allowing the ruination of households all across America. I mean, what DO they censor anymore?

The whole society of this system, we live in, is designed to drive us mad, it's that corupt. People that are classed as having a mental illness, are clever enough to know that what we offer to our children?... is it a snake or is it a apple. I'm sure, even you could answer that.......That's to look forward
to a better future for our people young and old...for us to have faith, to work towards, no time for sicknesses in the Kingdom of God, there's such a mess to clean up!

there are many reasons why one could have a mental illness.
For instance sometimes with depression it is because your body does not produce enough of the chemical serotonin ( the sun helps to produce). If you live in a climate where there is not much sun people tend to have more problems with depression.

I have a mental illness. Life sucks and it's not fair. The people who are supposed to care about us sometimes don't. my family hates me because i'm named after my grandfather. they hated him because he was in the military and when he died no one cared. They take their problems out on me and i know i have a bad family. If you look at africa there's people starving to death and people in the us are picky bout the brand of maccaronni & cheese. You can't say you have it bad, because there's always someone out there who have it worse.
Life sucks!!!

I don't think more people have MI, I think it is just more widely accepted in society. While there is a stigma still attached to it, I don't think it is as bad as it was (the stigma).
I have MI and I struggle everyday. I am glad I have it now (today) as oppose to say 50 years ago.
I would have been locked up!!!
