Red is usually the colour of anger or fear.
In a swarm suggests a feeling of hopelessness.
But being @ a funeral means the end of something.
Not neccesariliy a life but something.
Perhaps, you have suppressed fear or anger towards ur family and sub consciously feel it may lead to an end of line existence.
Maybe 'the end' is afterlife and you fear that when u or ur family die they wont have a utopia to go to.
That is a common fear.

Well that is understandable scary and freaky!
That kinda dream or well nightmare is just a sense that while your cousin is dead that you are missing him/her and/or something bad might be coming up to anyone of your family members including yourself...I wouldn't consider it bad or good, but i guess it would be a nightmare and would be considered bad in that stand point.

I still can remember some of my dreams from the past then i i have the same dream again that night! it's freaky, but yes the brain does stuff in a mysterious way...There may be multiple reasoning's for this question! but i just gave what i think could be going on! i hope i was some kinda help.

Words like digging: Secret revealed. Terrible misfortune. Buried of the past.

Words like red: This is an indication of great passion and sensitivity in your emotional relationships.

Words like family: Kin. Group. Prosperous times ahead.

I'd say that you were just overwhelmed with the death of your cousin. You feared abandonment and what would happen to you if everyone close to you died (a normal feeling for an 8 year old) and were trying to work through it in a dream. It's OK - just don't let it run your life.

I think this was basically just a dream of fear. You already lost your cousin, even though you did not know him well, and you were afraid of what would happen if you lost everyone else in your family. Things will be o.k.

If this nightmare is still bothering you after all these years, have you ever thought of perhaps speaking to someone like a counsellor or therapist about this?

If you're religious and belong to a church, perhaps you could even speak to your pastor about it and pray to God.
