I have an interview schedule in a month for my Adjustment of Status/Green Card and finally get permanent residence. I was very excited upon receiving my schedule for the interview. But then again, I started to panic or at least started thinking so much about the interview. I only know a few people that have gone through the same process that also lives in Chicago. One of them have done it almost a year ago.

If you have gone through an interview in the Chicago local district office, please let me know what your experience is. Also, my lawyer that represented us is in Texas right now and her family is there. She wont' be able to be there during the interview. Would it be ok to bring another lawyer to the interview?

Thanks so much!

PEACHWITHIN = u sure they won't even let the lawyer in? because I have heard of many that suggests to bring the lawyer if they have it because a friend of mine went to interview in May and she had a lawyer. Although her lawyer didn't go, she was asked by the immigration officer whether the lawyer was present. Just thought I throw that out there...

If your AOS is based on the marriage to US Citizen, the Immigration Officer will ask you and your spouse about your relationship and marriage is truthful and law-binding. They are trying to look for marriage fraud only for the green card. It is always helpful bring pictures, cards, letters between you and your spouse, and wedding pictures as well.
If you are really nervous, you can consult with immigration lawyer about some quesitions that you will be asked and good tips how to answer those questions properly. And the lawyer of your choice is allowed to accompany you in the interview. Good luck!

i'm nevertheless waiting for my interview yet i've got heard they ask you questions approximately what you recognize approximately one yet another, and questions approximately your relationship. as an occasion they could ask the place you adult males met, the names of your husband's mothers and dads, the colour of his toothbrush, crap like that. think of of it as a extreme version of the newlywed game with the eco-friendly card simply by fact the prize. I additionally think of it relies upon on who you have interviewing you. diverse interviewers will ask numerous issues. this is truly useful in case you adult males stay on the comparable handle with the two names on the hire. in case you do no longer, this does not mean you the interview will bypass badly, it merely seems truly solid. additionally carry photographs of the two considered one of you jointly to the interview. photographs of your husband jointly with your loved ones are super. wedding ceremony photographs i think of could be appropriate; this additionally could dispel any suspicions the interviewer could have that your wedding ceremony grew to become into pretend (this DOES ensue).
