How about 300 Old Testament Prophecies that were fulfilled in Jesus of Nazareth, showing Him to be the Messiah, which were obviously just a coincidence??

I think saying Jesus is a liar and fraud is a bit harsh, and I don't even believe Christianity isn't true, in the sense that it's grown really BIG and has spread globally, but so has Harry Potter mania! I think the "hype" is more in control than the concept. It's turned into a behemoth money-making machine now, like oil and pharmaceuticals and it will never diminish. But what are its motives now?

I think, over the millennia, it has been distorted and twisted and over-analyzed to the point where it has made hundreds of thousands of people absolutely MENTAL! Religion should be a guideline to live BY, not live FOR. It's gotten just toooo out of control.

Christianity IS true.

<
You mention Isaiah 53 as not being Messianic. If it's not Messianic, what is it? And, Is. 53 disproves your idea about substitutionary atonement...that concept is crystal clear in Is. 53. Not only that, but the entire Jewish concept of animal sacrifice is substitutionary atonement! And why isn't Isaiah 53 read in temples nowadays? It's problematic for the Jewish people, that's why -- because it DOES clearly state substitutionary atonement.

In christianity, there are many religions and there is only one true religion which was founded by Jesus Christ himself. Many religions were founded and claimed that the members are christians but ;they are false christians and not really spreading the words of God in relation to christianity.

Do not waste your time in asking question which is not appropriate to believers of God. If you do not believe God at present maybe sometime, someday and somewhere you will soon be called by God in service to him. YOu see, you are like Apostle Pablo who was against God but he repented and was called by God, then he became an Aposstle of Christ and have taught and still teaching the wrods of God.

God does not exist because God is not part of the evolution of nature that has been going on for billions of years. "Does God Exist?" is similiar to the saying "What comes first, the chick or the egg?" Buddhism is a more practical religion because part of the religion is reincarnation of a person at death.

Well for starters, you asked a stupid question. There is no reason to feel Christianity isn't true. It looks like you are just trying to find another excuse not to believe in God.

I think it is impossible for any educated, evolved mind to believe in a god that was once pleased with animal blood sacrifices and then needed the blood of Christ to wash sins, its just so illogical and barbaric even for man, much less a perfect God. I find it unfathomable that any one can buy into it.

Jesus was a liar and a fraud.

Jesus broke practically every single Messianic prophecy, and many Christians claim passages are messianic which were not (Isaiah 53, for example, is not messianic).

Read the FAQ.

Jesus failed:
-- To rebuild the Third Temple
-- To end man's ability to sin
-- To end all war and violence
-- To inscribe the Torah on every human's heart
-- To bring all Jews back to Israel

Jesus broke rules against:
-- Substitutionary atonement
-- Sacrifice outside the temple
-- Human sacrifice
-- Working on the Shabbat

Jesus falsely taught about:
-- The nature of the Law
-- The nature of Shabbat
-- The nature of the Eternal Covenant
-- The nature of atonement
-- The nature of sin
-- The nature of the afterlife
-- The nature of the Messiah

Jesus blasphemed:
-- In calling the Eternal Covenant fulfilled
-- In stating that there was a New Covenant.
-- In calling himself 'Son of God', a title reserved for annointed Kings of Israel
-- In teaching of a second coming, which is not scriptural (in fact, the scriptures are clear that HaMosiach will fulfill ALL the prophecies in ONE lifetime, no resurrections or second comings)

*IF* Jesus actually did ANY of the miracles ascribed to him, they were done by Satan, not God.

scotgirl:

Contrary to claims, Jews are deeply familiar with Isaiah 53.

The problem is, they recognize that it's a continuation of Isaiah 52 which was incorrectly broken in two by Christian interpreters.

Recognizing that, it becomes immediately obvious that the Suffering Servant is the people Israel itself, not the Coming Messiah.

Further, animal sacrifice is not a form of substitutionary attonement, because the atoner had to personally bring the sacrifce.

Your concept of the Messiah is that you did not yourself have to personally lead him to the Cross (how could you, you're 2000 years too late for it). As such, you are invoking him as a substitution -- someone ELSE put him in a place of sacrifice, and you're benefiting from it.

The substitution isn't about what dies, it's about the fact that you did not personally carry the sacrifice to the Temple.

The complete lack of any and all empirical data to suggest the slightest possiblity that Christianity might be correct, suffices me...

The simple fact that for a god to be omnipotent and all good, the universe couldnot possibly be the way it is.
Plus god needed to sacrifice himself to his own creation to save that creation from his own wrath?
God creates Adam, Adam breaks the ONLY rule god gives him, so god... tells him to go forth and multiply. I suppose in the hopes that things would somehow improve? And is he surprised when generation after generation keeps screwing up? Please....
