One of the problems (or conveniences for many clergymen) is that Christianity relies on faith. For most sceptics, such as myself, this is not reason enough to believe, and I require definitive proof of anything - especially something like God.

For now, there is nothing that can prove or disprove God. Perhaps though in the future, if we manage time travel, we would be able to travel back to the time of Jesus to see whether his many "miracles" really happened. We could travel even further back to the time of Moses to see if the plagues occurred and whether God spoke to him through a flaming bush. The same goes for Muhammed and other religious figureheads.

If these events did not occur, then we can prove that God does not exist, after all, it would render the entire Bible a complex, intricate web of lies. Until the day comes when we travel into the past, all faiths that require the belief in a God (as opposed to something like Buddhism) will remain firmly on the basis of true, unrelenting fath.

Back to this again...

Okay: Those who think God exists have to provide burden of truth because they suggest the affirmative.

All the Atheists have to do is sit back and shoot down every lame argument with sharp logic.

Examples of lame arguments: "Open your eyes. That's proof enough"-- This proves that things exist. Not that some guy in the sky make them.
"Miracle of birth"-- This proves we can have sex and make little carbon copies of ourselves through chemistry and biology. Sciences.
"The Bible explains it all!"-- Why? Because it's written in black and white? Fine then. My friends travel by bubble and broom, the roads are paved with yellow brick, and my pet is a talking fish. The Wizard of Oz and The Cat in The Hat explain it all.
"God is inivisble"-- So is my towering 300-foot tall flying, ravioli-eating, purple polka-dotted, shuffleboard-playing, orange, fuzzy, scissor-handed friend, Lenny.

A general concept of God? This can not be disproved. Though the total lack of evidence does come close.

The biblical god? Since this version of god is contradictory and logically impossible (omnipotent + omnicogniant + all loving is not compatible with either his actions in the bible or the world as we see it today) then yes, it can be disproved. Just as 1+1+1 can be proved not to be equal to 1.

Who created the space shuttle or the Hubble Telescope? Men...
Are either of them as wonderful or as complex as a man?
Can Men create anything as complex as himself?
Who created men?

It is much less far fetched that God created men, than to say he evolved.

Scientists everywhere agree that if men evolved from monkeys at the same rate at which animals 'appear' to evolve, it would require the universe to be about 3-4 times older than its young age of 14 billion years. Let's put all the parts of wristwatch in a bag, shake it up and see how long we have to shake until it comes out ready to wear and keep time. Would that take less time than monkey to wiggle around in the universe until all the parts were available to make a man?

And, if God is a manmade concept, why does man hate his own concept so much? God should get the same respect as other manmade gods; Like Zeus, or Athena? We know Zeus and Athena are dead. Dead gods are much more interesting.

If He were not real, we wouldn't hate Him so much. Would we?

I don't expect to convince you one way or the other - but if you really want to know if God exists and you're not just asking the question just to get responses on the internet, He'll show himself to you.

Look at all the different Zillas that all have the exact same avatar. If that isn't proof of a benevolent God I don't know what is.

Oh, the actual proof has something to do with watches, peanut butter and bananas (but not Elvis). Go figure.

GOOD NEWS! YOU ARE GOD!
BETTER NEWS! SO IS EVERYTHING ELSE!
WHY?
1) we exist in the mind of God so God is us and we are God.
Or
2) God dwells in everything God created so God dwells in us.
Or
3) Our need to believe in a guiding force and/or Higher power created God and our belief sustains God so God is us.

How did you manage to prove a negative hypothesis? In order to do that you would need to have knowledge of everything that ever existed, exists now, or will ever exist. In order to do that you would have to be Immortal, Omniscient and Omnipresent. How could you do that in a physical body on one small planet in a backwater corner of the multiverse? You would have to be an eternal disembodied entity and as such you would immediately disprove you own theory. Wrap your head around that one Dude!

The existance of God is not only a matter of the mind but also a matter of the heart/will. Blaise Pascal puts it succinctly:

"It was not then right that He should appear in a manner manifestly divine, and completely capable of convincing all men; but it was also not right that He should come in so hidden a manner that He could not be known by those who should sincerely seek Him. He has willed to make Himself quite recognizable by those; and thus, willing to appear openly to those who seek Him with all their heart, and to be hidden from those who flee from Him with all their heart, He so regulates the knowledge of Himself that He has given signs of Himself, visible to those who seek Him, and not to those who seek Him not. There is enough light for those who only desire to see, and enough obscurity for those who have a contrary disposition.”

I love answering theese.you cannot prove or disprove gods existence, but.....................IF there is a god why does he let innocent children get raped, molested, and sold, on the international black market, for sex and slavery? if there is a god why does he let his LOYAL followers die of horrible diseases? In my opinion there is no god. in my opinion it is just a crutch for for people who do not believe in themselves enough to go through life without compromising thier own morals, so they have to let someone else (the church) decide what is right and what is wrong for them. Without the ultimatum of "going to heaven or going to hell" looming in front of them they would not know what to do. I personally would not give my life to or follow a god that lets things like that happen on HIS earth. A truly "AWESOME GOD" wouldnt let things like that happen.

1. I could if you define what/who god is. But most likely I won't be able to anyways.
2. I can't, I have to have an absolute knowledge of the universe in order to falsify a negative.

Your mere existence, the air and the breathe that you breathe each day is not your own. If it wasn't for the Lord thy God, and ALL HIS CREATIONS, you, me, and the world as we know it would not exist! If you doubt that God exists my friend, then I can only pray for you! It is God that created Adam and Eve for whom we are all a part of; but you need to establish a relationship with God yourself personally if you have to come here to Yahoo! Answers to ask this question. Yes, I can prove God exists, and His name should be capitalized with a capital "G" and not a small "g" to signify false gods, lords, and etc. God, is real for He lives in all of us ... INCLUDING YOU! ... And you would not be here each and everyday breathing if it was not for God who has spared you! Amen.

Much Love
Peace & Happiness
