What is involved with desensitisation therapy when the reaction to bee stings is anaphylaxis?

Fifteen years ago I know they gave shots for bee stings. I've heard that they have been discontinued because people kept reacting to them.

The American Apitherapy Association (the folks who are do this for a living) do not suggest if for people with allergy to bee stings.

I *think* they give allergy shots wit VERY low dosages of venom in it, then build it up.
