That makes little sense, considering how many Christian liberals there are. I'm more of a leftist than a liberal, and I'm a lifelong Christian. There are plenty of Christians who consider themselves liberals, and obviously, they don't feel that their beliefs are bad for America. However, hardline conversatives who want to turn this country into a theocracy are, in my opinion, extremely dangerous, and I'll oppose them politically whenever possible.

Because Jesus Christ despised people who were more interested in looking "holy" than in righting injustices. The very definition of conservatism is to keep things as they are, injustices and all. Liberals promote equality, freedom and social justice, much like Jesus did.
