That makes little sense, considering how many Christian liberals there are. I'm more of a leftist than a liberal, and I'm a lifelong Christian. There are plenty of Christians who consider themselves liberals, and obviously, they don't feel that their beliefs are bad for America. However, hardline conversatives who want to turn this country into a theocracy are, in my opinion, extremely dangerous, and I'll oppose them politically whenever possible.

i'm no longer Christian, nevertheless i'm hoping i can provide you some socio-political perception. you look like a extraordinarily intelligent and smart man or woman able to forming your very own comments. (you besides mght sound youthful.) inspite of your conservative/christian upbringing, don't be to rushed to label your self through fact the choice (Liberal) or one and the comparable (Conservative). You shouldnt could justify no longer balloting for somebody through fact they help professional-selection movements. certainly in case you disagree with that, it is your perogative. despite the fact that enable's say you settle with that comparable flesh presser on maximum different subject concerns, and you think of he/or she is optimal for the area - nicely then you certainly'll could think of. Is abortion a non-negotiable difficulty for YOU? do no longer worry approximately how Christians justify it, on the top of day it is your vote. Politics and faith are like Oil and Water. i might propose you communicate your self an self reliant in the intervening time mutually as you proceed your preparation on those subject concerns.

Because Jesus Christ despised people who were more interested in looking "holy" than in righting injustices. He raged against the Pharisees who drained the savings of credulous widows, made spectacular entrances at public events, recited big showy "prayers", and spewed out hundreds of trivial "laws" that were impossible for working people to follow, yet never lifted a finger to help anyone besides themselves. (Just like a rightist.)
Jesus was a man of action, reaching out to prostitutes, drunks, lepers, epileptics, Samaritans, gentiles, everyone that "respectable" people avoided and ignored. He befriended them, healed them and encouraged them, unlike the "good" people of Judea. There was not a sanctimonious bone in his body, nor even an interest in owning personal property.
Contrast this with the interests of right-wing "Christians", who are more interested in whitewashing their images, protecting wealth and property and condemning people who don't have the right lifestyle. The very definition of conservatism is to keep things as they are, injustices and all. Liberals promote equality, freedom and social justice, much like Jesus did.

For one, the prohibition of government funding for stem cell research. This prohibition is solely founded on religious belief. This irrational belief is impeding what could be the most promising development in medical treatment, thus prolonging the suffering of people with all kinds of diseases.

Because Christianity would take away a lot of tax money- there would be no money in things like abortion and porn. People would not be aloud to sell things like these. We would not be aloud to rip each other off, we would be obligated to care for the homeless and widows.
