I have so many great ideas but I can never seem to put any of it into action because I am so afraid that I will give up or fail. This has been the case all my life. And now my family (especially my mom) has so little confidence in me.
I recently got an idea to start my own charity foundation. But I'm afraid to tell my family about this because
1. I'm worried that they will discourage me from doing it, saying it's worthless.
2. I'm worried that they will like it, and I will fail ( and thereby adding one more to my list of failures.)

How do I stick to something and do it till the end? How do I not give up easily?. Should I care what other people ( my family) thinks? But I really do want them to be proud of me.

If noone else has confidence in you, you must have confidence in yourself. I think that charity foundation would be great. I'm sure your family will support you, and if not, have faith in yourself. Believe in yourself! Wouldn't it be great to show everyone, to show your family, that you can really do it? You must have faith and confidence in yourself, and be brave, and do what you want! Don't give up, when noone else believes in you, believe in yourself. When you want to give up, think how close you are to really making a difference. Prove your family, and yourself wrong, that you can do anything!

Good luck! I hope it turns out for the best! :)

It is really hard to overcome this type of fear. Some people call it a fear of failure, I recognized mine as a fear of success. From a very young age, I learned that if I didn't try, I couldn't fail.

What worked for me is "act as if". I thought about what I would do if I weren't afraid of failing, and acted as if it were true. I wish I could tell you that I never failed again, but of course I did. What happened was that I actually TRIED things that I would have passed by for fear of failing. Each time I did something that I would have blown off previously, I gained more confidence. Win or loose, I had done it! After some tome, I realized that I was no longer acting. I have a much higher level of self confidence now, and am achieving successes I never would have had if I gave up without trying.
