and found it to be OAS (oral allergy syndrome). i like bananas and almonds, theyre not worth the discomfort..... is there anything i can do about this?

nope...I have the same problem with fresh pineapple, walnuts and pecans...even one walnut can put me in serious pain, but pecan pie is worth it...thanks for giving it a name.

I used to have it very badly. I reacted to almost all raw fruits and vegetables. Just getting the juice on my skin made me break out in a rash. I had allergy desensitation shots for pollen allergies. After being on the shots for five years, my allergy to raw fruits and vegetables went away! Now I can even eat a salad.

My mother does this bad. Glad to seeit does have a name. The doctor gave her some lidocaine to swish around in her mouth once hers was so bad. I may have mispelled that but it is the stuff they put on your gum before they give you the shot. or you can try some canker sore medication. It nums your mouth also. Hope this helps.
