Hamburgers are eaten whole with one's hands in Japan . I heard that it was usual in UK to eat the hamburger with a knife and fork. If you do so, do you remove the top half of the bun? And don't you eat it at all?
Please tell me how you eat them.

in American you just pick it up and bite into it.

The best ones in American drip all kinds of stuff down your shirt, but are always eaten in the hand, and are sloppy and wonderful.

Unless it is a chili-size, eating a burger with knife and fork looks ridiculous in the USA.

Pick the burger up whole (with both or one hands) and then bite into it from the side so you get all the layers in your bite. It's weird to eat it by using knife and fork.

In New Zealand we just pick it up and stuff it in our mouths. Eating a hamburger or pizza with a knife and fork just sounds really weird.

Hi, In the UK it is acceptable to pick the burger up with your fingers and eat it that way.I am yet to see anyone in McDondalds using a knife and fork!!

Just pick it up and bite it, the same as you do. Far to hard to eat with a knife and fork. Let all the juices run down your face and fingers, tactile food, very good for the soul. Enjoy.

If it was good enough for Emily Post, it's good enough for me. Sandwiches are wrapped in some sort of bread exactly for the purpose of eating them with your hands. I doubt even the Queen uses a knife and fork for a burger.

I think you may be mixing up the hamburger with salisbury steak......which is basically hamburger but it is eaten without a bun and it has gravy poured on it. It is eaten with a knife and fork.

I am sure that the English eat their Big Mac with their hands aswell.
