I researched this myself once having the same problem and the National Pork Board says that while you can freeze ham they don't recommend it because it affects the quality of the meat. However if you decide to freeze anyway make sure you wrap it very tightly and don't freeze for more then two months.

Sure, ham is fine to freeze no matter how it's cut. I'd just put it in a ziplock plastic bag and put it in the freezer. Once you thaw it, you can eat it as is or pan fry it or however you normally enjoy the shaved ham.

Yes, I freeze it all of the time! Make sure you get all of the air out of the bag, zip it shut tight and freeze. Even better if you do that, then put the baggie in a freezer container with the lid on, and freeze. When ready for it, let it thaw in the refrigerator, will be fine.

Most sliced and shaved ham has large amounts of water in it. I find that when thawed, it seems slimy. You may be able to blot it with a towel.

The more surface area there is the quicker it deteriorates . Your best Ham freezing candidates are intact blocks/chunks.

It's fine to freeze for a short amount of time, just make sure it's wrapped up as airtight as you can make it.

Wrap it in shrink wrap if it isn't already, and freeze the meat.
