I would like a general idea of the amount of people that have tried this.

Was it difficult, if you did? Was it so difficult, that you didn't try it?

How many people say, the information in Genesis is wrong, and why?

If I thought it was wrong, I would not have anything to do with the bible, what about you?

Am I the only one that believes it, and does this study, to enjoy it and believe even more strongly in the bible?

I am just curious, please help me get some idea about it. Thanks.

I studied Genesis a few years ago and really enjoyed the journey.Finding out the real time.
GOD's time is different than ours, the numbers were a challenge for me I am not a numbers person it blows my mind...But through it all I realized many things that i had previously believed were proven wrong.I choose to believe the Bible account and not the stories the preachers teach at church.
I would love to continue studying but my concentration is not up to par for health reasons so as soon as I can I will continue.
I believe your study has been more extensive than the normal person.

I tried several times to read through the whole Buy-bull and since Genesis is first, I definitely read the Creation story a time or two. Still, until I had it pointed out to me, I somehow missed the fact that there are two different creation stories, in slightly different order. I don't know what you mean by 'study', but the Sumerian Creation myth and their flood myth are similar to the Buy-bull versions but existed a thousand or so years earlier. Also, Abraham was from Ur, which was in Sumeria.

BTW, there are several theologians who have had years of study/classes at the college level, who are atheistic professors. Saying you simply study the Buy-bull doesn't convince very many that you must be more knowledgeable than others.
Oh, yeah. I also remember reading something about there were only 300 years after the world wide flood myth but somehow, there was a large enough population for whatever the next event was. I wouldn't completely drop the Buy-bull but I would definitely take a world religion class.

I have never done an in depth study of Genesis- would love to! But I believe every word of it! I believe in a literal 6 day creation as the Bible says-- and explains it was 6 literal days. Notice too as God tells Moses one of the laws the Israelites are to follow also are to rest on the 7th day of the week...

I believe the book of Genesis to be the literal truth. No errors, no wrong information. EVERYTHING is as it is written, God does not lie.

The entire Old Testament was hard for me to come to grips with at first. Genesis was actually the easiest, I never had any doubt about it. Once I studied and re-read Old Testament scripture that was hard for me to come to grips with, I learned and things began to fall in place and make sense. I learned that God of the Old Testament really is the same LOVING and PATIENT God of the New Testament. One must really study and pray to receive understanding. God will show you if you ask him to.

Here is my thoughts/interpretation on the subject of Nephilim.

Think about this - one of the answers you received was on the Nephilim. The Nephilim were offspring of human women and fallen angels. They were giants and extra intelligent. Now, all the mythical gods and even Kings (like King Og) in the Bible that were giants, were these offspring. The offspring was meant to try to ruin the bloodline of which Christ would be born. Nearly every thime God commanded that the Israelites kill a group of people, even the children and women, they were these offspring, that were of evil fallen angels and human women. So, God was ordering this as a PROTECTION to humanity, not to be cruel to a group of humans, as they were not fully human. All these things you see in ancient hydrogliphics, like 1/2 human 1/2 animal beings, were real. This is why when God destroyed creation with the flood, he also destroyed animals. ALL had been defiled and corrupted. The Nephilim's physical body could die, but not the angel part, angels can not die. So when the flood killed all, the angel/spirit being of the Nephilim remained, and re-entered to others when humanity started again. Thus, this is why it says that there were Nephilim in those days and also after.

As I said, in my study and in my personal determination, this is what I think. There is a book that is out called the Nephilim and the Pyrmid of the Apocalypse, it explains this in detail with scripture to reference.

Regarding creation..........
Did you know that a Nobel Prize physicist, Steve Weinberg, stated in his book "The First Three Minutes", in a description of the beginning of the Universe that "In the first three minutes which occurred simultaneously everywhere, filling all space from the beginning with every particle of matter rushing apart from every other particle. The matter rushing apart consisted of elementary particles - neutrinos and other subatomic particle that make up the world. Among the particles where protons which make light. The Universe was filled with light."

This is exactly what the Bible says, the "the universe was filled with Light." Genesis 1 - 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth 2 Now the earth was unformed and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters 3 And God said: 'Let there be light.' And there was light.

So in the case, science determined a theory that actually matches what the Bible says.

Quantum theory states that a vacuum is subject to quantum uncertanies, meaning that things can materialize out of a vacuum, although they tend to vanish back into it quickly. Theoretically anything, a dog, a house, a planet, can just pop into exitstence. Possing that the possiblity of spontaneous existence exists, it can just pop into existence, nothing caused it, it just happened. The probability dictates that pairs of subatomic particles are far more likely creations and that they will last extremely briefly.

These subatomic particles are called virtual particles, they are theoetical entities, not even clear if they even exist as opposed to being merely theoretical constructs. Interesting enough, these particals, if real, do not come out of nothing, they are a sea of fluctiating energy, violent activity that has a strong physical structure, and can be described as physical laws. The particles are thought to originate by the fluctuations or the energy in the vacuum. So this is NOT a example of something coming into being from nothing, or without a cause.

So, who or what made the quantum vacuum in the first palce?

People using the quantum theory stop at the possibility of something popping into existence via the vacuum, but they fail to further tell that that vacuum is made up of something in the first place.

The two versions of the creation myths in Genesis contradict each other in the order things happen.

Both totally contradict the physical evidence in the universe.

Don't even get be started on the ridiculous nature of the flood story.

>>>If I thought it was wrong, I would not have anything to do with the bible, what about you? <<<

So, you will not be having anything to do with the bible then. Face it Genesis is pure myth.

100% true, and actually the flood "myth" could explain a lot of other things. I would like to make the time someday (or find a website) that, given the years people lived and died, had kids, and so on, could give a fairly accurate timeline of the existence of the earth, probably somewhere within the 6-10,000 year range.

E-mail me if interested in a verse-by-verse flood "myth" expansion. It's kinda fun, really.

Have a great night!
(here come the thumbs down!)

Yes, from my study of Genesis, I’ve discover some things that go against traditional teaching. For example:

The 1st verse, God created the heaven and the earth

The 2nd verse, God destroyed all life from the earth.

The 3rd verse, God starts to rebuild the earth.

Also,

1. Satan wholly seduced Eve, took her virginity.

2. Cain and Abel were twins

3. Satan was Cain’s father.

4. Adam was Abel’s father

5. Noah’s generation was perfect means that his blood line was pure, if you will, not mixed with the fallen angles.

Oh, I’ll just add one more thing. Adam was an 8th day creation. All the other races were 6th day creations.

If the Book of Genesis fails in any aspect of truth the whole bible fails !!! So much weight on one book !!! The story of Abraham is a story of God rewarding faith !!! True science does not disprove Genesis !!! Faith is the path of action and man is rewarded for it !!!

A literal interpretation of Genesis in contradicted by reality. Even a literal interpretation of chapter 1 is contradicted by a literal interpretation of chapter 2. But why should that destroy your faith? There are plenty of Christians who see it as allegorical, and therefore containing truth. The meaning is not changed by taking a non-literal interpretation.

If you really want to know why many people see it as non-literal, check the site in my link.
