Call the local animal control office, the spca in your area and ask neighbors. I hope you find them.

They say that near Halloween you should keep them inside, especially black cats. We live in a sick world. I have heard of cranky old neighbors poisoning feral cats as well. I think everyone else has great advice. Signs, talk to neighbors and check the pound. Sorry to hear your news!

Probably somebody who doesn't like cats and didn't like them out and about decided to get rid of them for you. You should always do two things: Have your cats spayed or neutered and keep them indoors. Always. There are always nuts lurking about that harm animals.

Has a neighbor started trapping and turning them in to the humane society or animal control?
Has someone started killing or kidnapping cats in your area?
Do you have coyotes in your area? They kill any housepet they can get, cats especially, as food.

"The Greaseman", a syndicated radio personality, did a live show in northern Virginia one time.
He observed, on the air, that the Barcroft Cat Clinic was right next door to the Hong Kong Carryout!
I was glad someone finally said something. I had ordered from the carryout many times and had often wondered if they were owned by the same people.
I am worried for you, very worried.

Do you feed them regularly? I regret to say that I don't feed my cats as much as I should, so they venture elsewhere for food. Yes, they have come back to the house, but they don't stick around.
It's possible that your cats are running out somewhere looking for food. If you see one, give it some food and maybe take it inside for awhile so it will want to stay near the house again.
