You need to go to one of the pull down menus and click on Borders. You should highlight the areas where you want the lines to print. Most people are like having the thicker lines on the outside, right under the headings and separating columns. You can adjust the thickness of the lines by highlighting the areas by clicking on the lines on the right side. I believe it also maybe an option in format> Cells> Borders. Justgoing off my memory and not sure what version you have. In addition, under file, under page set up, if you click on one of the tabs it will have a box under there somewhere that asks if you would like to see grid lines. Not sure the format you have, but that that time, you may also need to landscape it-making it horizontal instead of document style. Hope that helps.

Go to File / Page Layout and look at the tabs. One of them gives you the option of printing the grid.
Alternately, you can format the cells to have borders around the edge (Menu / Format/ Cells / Borders )

Go to "file" in the toolbar at the top, select "page setup". When that opens, go to the last tab, "sheet". Halfway down the window, you'll see the word "gridlines"- check the box next to that, then click on "ok". Gridlines will then show up.

Taking a stab on the darkish the following - perhaps the DIV that the table and textual content lies in is restricted by technique of padding/margins. attempt resetting their margins/padding in CSS and including a width sources wide adequate to carry both the table and the textual content.
