Will you actually do it?

Yes, if you start reading your Bible now look how many times you will read it through by the time you're 100 years old. I read my Bible daily and will until the day I die.

I've talked to a lot of people with the "ambition to read the entire Bible" who focus so intently on getting through it that they lose focus on what it is that they are actually reading. I mean to say that they force themselves to read by some schedule that will get them through the Bible in a certain amount of time. But, when they're done, they don't really understand any of it any better than they did when they started.

Personally, I'm more concerned with understanding God's Word and less concerned with forcing myself to read it all based on an unrealistic schedule.

First of all get yourself a good version such as the 'New International Version' much more interesting. Second, begin with the Gospel John, then read through the New Testament.

You will by now have an appetite to explore the old and see how the old is a type of the new which is its fulfillment. Read then the first five books of the old testament, the law, written by Moses. I would then give yourself a real treat and read the Book of Esther. The greatest love story you will ever set your eyes on.

There is a method to make it come alive. Once it does, well you'll know.

I read it on a regular basis, and consider myself a Christian, it is because I have read it all that I remain strong in my belief that I am both a Messianic Jew and a Christian, and that there is no contradiction in terms, that to be a Christian, a true Christian, one is a Jew, that the rabbinic Jew was never promised the land, that Paul does not contradict anything...that the thign that was replaced was never the Law of Moses or the Prophesies but the system of sacrificing, and mortal men as high priests because they proved to be fallible in their own right.
I gain new insight all the time, and as I do I realize more and more that it is NOT a 39 chapter Book of the Jews and a 27 chapter Book of the Christians, it is a 66 chapter Book meant for all Believers of Abraham, Moses, David, etc.

I have read the entire Bible -
the first time was 18 years ago - I still read it 3-4 times a week and it applies deeply and differently to my life as my life goes on.

What do you mean ambition?

A responsible Christian will slowly but steadily work thier way thru the whole book including shudder the boring bits ... genealogies etc ,,, and most of us have done it and go back to favorite or difficult passages with a good commentary and study it in depth!

Mmm Song of Solomon!

You cannot truly have a personal relationship with God if you do not spend intimate time with Him and the best way to do that is with His word.
It helps me to understand Him better.
I try to read the entire bible through every year. This year I am reading a Chronilogical version along with a life application bible.
He reveals something new to me each and everytime. There is nothing you can face in your life that is not addressed in that book. You just need to ask God to reveal to you. what you need to learn.

I've actually read the whole the bible and will definitely read it again. Each time I read it, I learn something new and am able to live by it.
