Here is a writer gunning for an award in Journalism.Such wording and reporting of the way a lot of people feel.
But this was the same thing that has been discussed on a radio forum about NASCAR.The fact that Johnson is around at the end shows the "vulture" instinct of being there to finish off the the field.
Yes ratings are slipping and fans are not watching as much, just look at this forum. To start the year off there were 20 or 30 good solid fans writting and answering each week after a race but because of the quaility of the races, the wishy-washy rules, and the same teams winning each week (not to mention the freaks that corupted this site) that fans have left and the same is true for the physical events.
The consistancy of NASCAR is gone.

Wow, they all know the rules before the race starts, the first car across the line at the checkered flag wins. Just because he is extremely smart and manages his races better than anyone else doesn't mean he doesn't "deserve" the victory. David Pearson did that all the time and he is 2nd on the all time wins list. What is flimsy about being there at the end with a chance to win? If you do that consistently it will lead to wins. Nobody has been more consistent or has more wins over the last 6 years than the 48 team. You haters better get used to it because he's not going to start sucking anytime soon. Let me guess, you like somebody that DOESN'T "come on when it matters." LOL. GO JIMMIE!!!! I never thought anybody deserved a win as much as JIMMIE did at Texas. He drove his butt off and pushed Kenseth to the point of almost wrecking. Not only that, he really had a good car ALL weekend AND the whole race for that matter, he just lost some track position because of a conservative pit strategy earlier in the race.

I'm sorry, but you really come off sounding very jealous.
"Whenever someone dominates but can't finish"...what the heck?? If they can't finish, then they or their car was not good enough. I would hope that every driver out there would go for the win....Can you seriously say he was a vulture yesterday?? He ran in the top ten most of the day, and took four fresh tires at the end when Kenseth only took two. He ran him down and after many laps finally passed him. That was real racing.
It's amazing to me that people criticized him for winning with green white checkered flags, saying the races were handed to him. But, even when a race ends with a green flag, and he puts on one of his best finishes of the year, he gets criticized anyway.
If you are a hater, then you are a hater, nothing he does will change your mind.

i think of everybody who replied mentioned it superb. You gotta remember, he's virtually 35, as quickly as you hit 40 it particularly is often downhill, and magnificent now that's what Jeff Gordon is doing. Your skills fade as you age, and you're much less prepared to take negative aspects, except you're Mark Martin or Dale Earnhardt. And now with a newborn on the way that'd be no longer complication-free. He could make it to a hundred if he can save issues going. easily between 70 and 80 although. As long he would not win a championship interior the subsequent 3 years, he can win the races he needs. and likewise, look at Jeff Gordon: as quickly as you attain 80-something wins, you will lose luster. you're saying to your self, "Wow i individually finished alot, what else is there to do?" and you lose your tension and now Jeff needs to retire in like 4 or 5 years. i prefer to work out Jeff attain a hundred. i understand he's able to doing so. Jimmie isn't the main conistant for the period of the standard season yet in that 10 race Chase he we could all of it carry out. specific, win a pair to get a sturdy footing for the Chase, yet as quickly as you're there, you gotta save going for it it somewhat is what everybody desires to do in the event that they prefer to overcome the #40 8 group.

I'd say that he deserves all 32 of them. Sure he gets lucky, and has gotten a lot of good luck recently. But I'd rather be lucky than good any day! The fact that he's in a position to win the race says a lot about his skill and the skill of his team.

32. That will not change whether I like it or not. The last lap is really all that counts. David Pearson and Jeff Gordon both won a lot of races by leading late.

Rubbin' is racin.... until the icon of your sport hits a wall and dies. Then they really start cracking down and introducing cars of tomorrow.
I agree, nobody likes to watch people slide into victories, but thats just how it works. I cant think of another way to really do it... However its no more boring than watching Kurt Busch destroy the field at Pocono.

Doesn't sound like you would've been a fan of David Pearson. NASCAR's 2nd winningest driver (105) won many races that way.

All of them. And if you think the ratings are bad now wait for the all COT races next year. Try ALMS and SWC for some more interesting racing with real cars and manufacturers competing.
