I've wanted to get my nose pierced for a long time, but my dad has always had some excuse of why he wont let me.
I was wondering if anyone could post some things about nose piercings (e.g., Does it hurt, How long it'll take to heal, Is it safe, Will you bleed...) and a lot others too.
Basically post everything you know about nose piercings. I want to get the right side of my nose pierced and I want one of those small hoops. Not the one that like sticks out of your nose but the one that stays really close to your nose. Can i get that if i just got it pierced? or is there like a rule that you need to get a stud when you first get it pierced?
and with makeup, if i wanted to wear concealer on my face by not near my nose piercing would that be fine?
thanks!

The only nose rings I've ever seen that looked good were the ones that the farmers put in a pig's nose or a bulls nose. Most of the girls with nose rings do tend to resemble those animals though.

I'll run you through my experience with it:

Getting it done the woman sat me down and made me flare my nostrils (super attractive) so she could make the mark, I agreed and then she told me to close my eyes (because the needle is maaaassive haha!) so I did, she put it through and I just felt a lot of pressure and it stung. She gave me a tissue as she knew my eye on that side would water. The only time it hurt is when I opened my eyes and saw in the mirror that there was this maaaassive needle in my nose and I looked ridiculous which made me laugh, I scrunched up my nose and ouchies but it was all good! Really fast to do and the healing process was fairly simple. My only problem with it was that it would sometimes fall out in my sleep (I had a curved stud so I don't really understand why) and then I'd have to repierce it in the morning which wasn't pleasant! Nowadays I have a diamond in it which came with a stopper in the back (it's like a closed off tube, you put it in from the inside [prob need tweezers] and then screw in the stud) and I recommend that because it never falls out now =D

I love mine and don't think I look like me without it, it's become a part of me over the past few years! Concealer should be fine as long as it's not near the piercing, you have to be careful not to let makeup or dirt (who knows how but it could happen!) get in it. I think studs looks a lot nicer than hoops but that's just me, I'm still looking for a hoop that's right just to see what I'd look like with it! Oh and mine didn't bleed. It's safe as long as you go to a reputable piercing place. Spend the extra few bucks and get it done well, you'll save yourself a lot of pain and infection. Good luck =)

On a scale from one to ten, a nose piercing is lower than a one in regards to pain. It stung when they pierced me, but the feeling only lasted about 5 seconds, and after than I didn't have any pain at all. I was amazed.

It also heals really easlily. I had a hard time with my ear cartlidge, and my ear lobes because I sleep on my side and found it was really painful. My nose was SOOOO easy that it was almost like it was immediatly healed.

I recommend getting a stud at first (it may be a requirment)....if you get a hoop it will be much bigger than you want it to be because the piercer has to compensate for swelling. you can't change your piercing for at least a month, and you don't want to be walking around with a huge ring in your nose for that period of time.

Overall, nose piercing isn't a big deal at all. No Blood, hardly any pain, heals easily, and it's really cute!

Good luck!@

piercings do not make people retarded, it's just another form of body modification, doing it out of 'trend' is what's retarded. thats when you end out regretting them most of the time.

think of all piercings as a wound. You should expect tenderness, swelling, discoloration, and possibly bruising, bleeding, and itching. another natural part of the process just like healing any wound the possible secretion of a white yellow fluid. It's natrual its dead cells and blood plasma. This fluid will dry and form crust on your jewelry. To properly remove this crust, in my opinion the easiest and most comfortable way to clean your piercing is either during or right after a hot shower. The hot water and steam will help soften your skin and loosen any crust that built up at the base of your jewelry. Just wash your hands thoroughly with anti-bacterial soap. A medical grade soap such as Provon or Satin. is really good. if you cant get any just look out for anti-bacterial soaps containing fragrances, they can irritate your piercing or cause allergic reactions
Next, gently remove the crust from your jewelry with a disposable, one-use product such as a tissue, swab, cotton ball. Then, place some anti-bacterial soap in your hands and rub them together and make a nice lather and carefully wipe the jewelry and your piercing with the tips of your fingers, be careful not to scratch or irritate the area, I've done that. Once the jewelry and piercing are lathered with soap, spin the jewelry so that the ball on the jewelry rests on one hole of your piercing; then, spin it so that the ball rests on the opposite hole. This process will help run some soap into the wound, helping to ward off bacteria. After spinning the jewelry back and forth several times, rinse the area and jewelry thoroughly while continuing to spin the jewelry back and forth. If your starter jewelry is not a captive bead ring, try your best to perform the above process without overworking and irritating the area.

Good luck and always get pierced professionally

a nose ring is like an earring. it doesnt hurt but for one second. it doesnt take long to heal. you can take it out and it will close up if u dont want it. and after a few weeks you wont even notice its there... and yes u have to get it pierced in a stud

It's a needle going through your nostril, it hurts.

You'll probably be pierced with a ring, but it'll be large to compensate for swelling. Read through the website, it has some pretty good information.
