"Mary" is not an acceptable answer for this question, even if you are a Christo-Wiccan or Christo-Pagan or Gnostic. (Sorry, guys, I still love you, though!)

Also, preaching about Jesus or God isn't acceptable.

I don't have a favorite god or goddess. I accept each one for their personal attributes. While I can relate to Frigga for the upkeep of the household - balancing the checkbook, paying bills, cleaning, cooking, making sure we all have food and clothing, etc. Things most women do and make sure are available. But I also relate to Freya as being independent. Now that I think about it, I can relate to each and every goddess of the Germanic path!

Freyja
Why: That's a complicated answer. Freyja is an emodiment of everything a woman was a created to be. She's complex, independant, intelligent, drop dead gorgous and determined.
We're a lot a like. LOL
How does she effect my life....ugh. Let me count the ways. Half the time she's getting me into trouble but damn we have a good time doing it. ROTFL She's helped me remember who I am and be comfortable with it. She inspires me as a woman to embrace my gender, my independance and my love of life. She balances fine lines and helps me walk them. I would feel very strange with out her around. I'm actually thinking of oathing her, but thats a big *** deal and I'm not even close to ready.
Hail the Vanir! Hail Freyja!

I would go for Athena. She kicked butt as the Greek goddess of war and wisdom, plus she was apparently pretty good looking to boot. A scholar, a warrior, a looker -- does it get any better than that?

Brigid is my patron goddess of choice (even though I love them all) She is a goddess of home and hearth, and I love the stability of it all, but her fiery warrior side shines through in situations that call for it. She is smart and witty, and an Irish woman through and through. She has led me through so much in my life, and I owe it to her.

god, yes. I'll have to attribute me finding my religion to Cernunnos, I suppose. I'm not really sure which god or goddess influence me at any given time, but the hunt for meaning seems to be up his alley.

Enlil has always been a favorite of mine, not just because of her love and adoration for all life, but because her name is so serene and beautiful.
