weight gain begins and ends in the mid-section. you need to decrease your body fat % until you see the desired results in your abdominal region. this is accomplished by making changes in the diet and exercising at a high level of intensity to excite the metabolism.
abdominal training only strengthens the muscles it does not cause localized fat loss, no form of exercise does...

There is no known way to target a portion of your body to loose fat on. There are a lot of myths though. Ignore them all.
What you are doing will work. Targeted sit ups tone the muscles in the stomach, crunches target the lower abdominal muscles, and twisting motions target the obliques. If you did not do a great deal of exercise during your pregnancy then it will take a bit of time for your skin to shrink back to normal. Even if you did 3 months is a pretty short recovery from a birthing.
I say just keep at it, and give your body some time to bounce back. It sounds like you are doing the right things. Stay away from products that claim to get rid of stomach fat!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

dont do sit ups every day. all they do is build muscle - they dont burn fat.
you cant spot reduce body fat - only reducing body fat percentage will help.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 400-600cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day (have lots of veggies to eat in between meals if you are still hungry)
8 glasses of water -carry bottle of water with you and when you feel hungry drink it - we often confuse hunger with thirst (our bodies confuse it)
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for average of 45min, light weight training a few times a week (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, ice cream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
of course you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Cardio and lots of it. OHHHHHH I am editing my first post, losing weight after a baby is all about the breast feeding. I hope you are breast feeding because that's what helped my wife lose the extra weight. Also it just takes time for your body to settle back from being (for lack of a better term) abused by the pregnancy.

How many reps and sets do you do? You should do sit ups until you start to feel a burn, then add 15 to how many you just did. Starting out you should 3 sets. Start doing that and when it gets easier start over. Go to the burn and add 15. Good luck! And remember it's not going to all go away at once. It takes time.

it is probably extra skin left over from when your skin stretches out when you have a baby. Did you get alot of stretch marks?if you did than that's what it is. If you are really concerned about it then you could get plastic surgery

I would suggest pilates or a kettle bell workout. They tone your core very quickly. Or you could always buy a physio ball and do crunches on it. The key is to stabilize your core muscles and they will tight up fast! Good Luck!
