depends on what material makes up the tonnage. Different materials have different densities and resulting volumes

Two dimensional unit were involved. hard to answer due to lack of data. Tonnes is the unit of weight while cubic yard is the unit of volume. there should be an interfacing constant to convert in vice versa the two units. example, water has a constant of 1000kg or 1 tonne per cubic meter. so you can convert it. tnx

If by "tonne" you are referring to a metric ton (1000 kg), you need to know the density of the material in question. if you are referring to the tonnage of a ship, 100 cubic feet = 1 ton = 3.7037... cubic yards.

Yup, sorry...in order to answer this question we need to know what type of material you are talking about. You need the material's density in order to determine the volume.

1yd³ = 0.765m³ = 0.765tonnes
30tonnes ÷ 0.765tonnes/yd³ = 39.2cubic yards.
