generally, the less chemicals you use they better because guinea pigs chew on everything, even their cage.
water & vinegar is a good solution to use but you have to switch it up every once in a while so bacteria doesn't become immune to it. i use a solution of 5% bleach and water about once a month to soak/scrub the cage to clean out anything the vinegar may have missed.

I use normal vinegar diluted with water, a 50/50 mixture. I fill a spray bottle with the 50/50 solution and spray the corflute down, then I use a paper towel to dry it up. When the bottle is empty I make the solution up again and re-fill the bottle.

Alternatively you can dab some vinegar onto a paper towel and wipe the cage out, then dab some water onto a new paper towel and wipe the cage out again.

I either use vinegar or a spray called Healthy Habitat. Also, several ppl in this section have suggested putting newspaper under the bedding. I tried this although I was *sure* that our guinea pig would shred it but he usually leaves it alone & it makes changing the bedding so much easier.

ok, clean the cage once or twice a week depending on your guinea pigs feces currency, take a cup and fill 1/2 water and 1/2 vineger, and yes use white vineger, and first empty the bedding then clean the bottom with the mix, then finally put new bedding, and you get clean home +Guniea Pig=Happy Guinea Pig
