I am wondering if the signs I'm seeing could be signs of my 11 year old little sister being pregnant...
to start off, she's always been big and chubby, but the last few times I've seen her (I only see her about twice a week) she's grown a lot tummy-wise... she eats twice as much as usual, and goes to the restroom way too often... I know she started having periods when she was 10 but it's impossible to tell if she's having them now...
I wanna talk to people in my family about it, but some people such as my mom, see her as a saint and would probably kill me if I ever said anything like that so I don't wanna tell anyone so that it could get back to mom... I told my math teacher who I've grown to trust more than anyone so it's partially out, but not too far...
any advice?

to Ms. Allison... I can't help it, I'm a 17 year old virgin who's worried about my little sister, I want to be the example, and to be that, I need advice, not put downs!
to anyone else who answers, I should have added her week of weight gain... she spent last weekend with me and weighed 125 and I weighed her this Saturday wen she was here again and she was 129.... 4 pounds in one week!!

I've gained four pounds in a week, on an eating binge so, that alone isn't enough to judge. Even around periods women can gain that much weight and lose it afterwards. If she's chubby, she could even be diabetic which would make her go to the restroom often, or have IBS.
I would suggest that you go to your mother and tell her you're worried about your sister's health and wonder if maybe she should see a doctor. You could sight the frequent trips to the bathroom as a sign that something could be wrong as well as her weight gain. You wouldn't have to mention your suspicions about being pregnant. If she doesn't agree to take her to the doctor right away, at least you've put a bug in your mom's ear that will cause her watch your sister more.
If you do decide go directly to your sister for a talk, I wouldn't just ask her if she has a boyfriend because at her age, she could be a victim of sexual abuse and asking if she has a boyfriend won't tell you if she's had sex with an adult.
You are good sister to worry.---sorry I got the gender wrong when I orginially typed this answer.

Buckle up big sis- it's a long ride- the best one you'll have!! Medicaid and WIC are excellent suggestions. Similar circumstance with my little sister (years ago). Now that I am pregnant there are things that I wish I would have done for her that I did not. We were so caught up in all of the teen mom things, that she did not get to enjoy being pregnant. If I could do it over again, we would do all that you said, plus WIC and Medicaid and - not be so mean to the father of the baby. - take belly pictures. - start a baby book now. - spend more time making a fuss over the baby. - breastfeeding and newborn class - get little momma a pedicure before delivery. - celebrate her birthday. - let her make more of her own decisions using her mommy intuition. After she gets further along, start gathering things she will need. We did buy a pack of diapers a week and this made such a difference in the long run. I'm sure I will think of some more. I think that I did not guard her emotionally as much as I should have, from all that she heard people saying. I talked to much about the things she was missing out on too. We focused on the survival aspect and we did not enjoy it as much as I wish we would have. You can email me if you'd like and I can give you my sisters email address for your sister if she would like. Oh, at the time she was 15 (16 at delivery) and I was 19 (20 at delivery.) FYI: might want to read up on Labor Delivery and post-partum depression- major issues for us.

There is a possibility that your sister may have other things going on with her body that could be causing those symptoms, such as juvenile diabetes, especially if she has been overweight her whole life. If you don't think it's that, the best thing to do is talk to her. She is 11, and may not realize that she is pregnant until it is too late. You don't have to talk to your mom about it yet, but have a special date with your sister and get her to trust and confide in you.
I hope everything works out for you!

I'm sorry but i dont think you should go straight up to her and ask. She's 11! If she were an adult then you should, but not for now. My advice would be to relate to her in a story.
What i mean is, tell her a story and say that your teacher told you the story in school, in case she suspects or anything, about this young giraffe who is about to be a mother, and she was overjoyed as she had 3 baby giraffes. However the young giraffe was getting very tired as she had to clean, wash, cook and she still had to do homework. However every time she looked at her children's face, she felt it was worth it. So after a while, she had more kids, and even more kids. Now it was taking a toll on her, and she thought that perhaps she shouldn't have kids when she was so young, maybe later on when she wouldn't have to struggle with stuff like homework anymore, then you ask her if you think the giraffe should have given birth when she was young.
I know its not the greatest story but i couldn't fabricate a better one. After you tell her story, see whats her reaction. If she's happy about the story and still smiling, i highly doubt she's pregnant. But if she starts being pale faced and speechless, or into deep thought. Then she MIGHT be pregnant.
Good Luck!

she is awfully young but it could be sad as it could be. well what would you do? i mean 10 and have a baby. wlell you can adopt it out and she can stay a child. if shes into drugs try and get her help. sorry about this mess. i mean she probably wont' tell you and i gues syour mom would flip if she found out. it could be one of the guys she buys drugs from or whatever. its really hard yes the boobs if they are big or get that way is cause they do when you are pg. they get large and sounds of weight gain are bad but if shes eatig lots its hard to say. take care.

It's best to ask her straight up.
If she is, then she might really need a hand on this.
If she isn't, then no harm done.
Don't tell anything to the other family members unless your a hundred percent sure on your sister's situation. Because doing so, may cause an alarm to everyone and its definitely not a good rumor.

well a sign of being pregnant is having weird cravings ( example- dipping pickles in yogurt) also just because she is bigger doesn't mean shes pregnant, she could have gained weight, also check her bathroom drawers/cabinets and see if and pads or whatever is gone, is after a while there is still the same number of them as you saw the last time, that could say something,,,but you should talk to her in private

It's possible but do you think she would do that?Just talk to her acting like a big sis who wants to bond with her little sis. Talk about boys and then ask if there's a boy she likes or if there's anyone special. Look for any shakiness when you ask. If she says no you have to trust her. Good luck! Hope everything turns out ok!

I don't know, but mostly around this age, children enter into puberty, which causes them to experience many hormonal changes and in girls, it's not only just the periods, but you can easily start gaining weight and other stuff like that. Most children your sister's age don't understand sex, but it wouldn't hurt for you to talk to her instead of blabbing her problems off to someone else.
